Yankees and Red Sox = punk'd

Even though you had the chokejob of a lifetime, Mets, you almost just made up for it.

Red Sox = Defending world series champs.
And pretty set in the pitching category... Beckett, Schill, Dice k, Buchholz, Lester/wake?

huge pickup for the mets though

guess this kills the nationals shot at the NL East...

That's what I assumed. Most Mets fans are frontrunners.

That's an incredibly uninformed and biased opinion. I know several Mets that have been fans for quite some time. Some of them haven't even come close to visiting NYC. That doesn't make them frontrunners. All teams gain fans as they become prominent players in the playoffs. To assume anyone that you don't even know is a frontrunner is preposterous. I'm not saying he's not a frontrunner and I'm not saying he is one. Neither you or myself has any knowledge to make that decision.

It well may be wrong, and like all opinions, of course it's biased. But it ain't uniformed.

Obviously I'm painting with a deliberately broad and sneering brush, but if you're an adult rooting for a top-payroll team in a city you've never been to and it's not your parents' team, then IMO you're a frontrunner. A persistent frontrunner, perhaps, if you've been rooting for them since you were a kid, but still a frontrunner. Why are these guys never fans of the Rockies or the Brewers or the Seattle Seahawks?
