Yeah, I know Chavis is at LSU and this is not VN's "around the NCAA" forum, but I thought I'd attempt to break things up a bit on the main board by mentioning LSU and John Chavis.

Dear LSU fans,

With Chavis as your DC, be prepared for more games similar to what you witnessed this past weekend against Mississippi Stank.

Cheers,
tango.

I know some folks might mention some top defensive units at UT under Chavis, but I've still never understood the love affair that some folks have had with him over the years. I'm just not sure it wasn't talent moreso than defensive scheming/coaching that made Chavis look good.

About the only game that really stands out to me was when he whipped out the prowler defense against Florida a few years back that resulted in a huge UT win. Gimmicky thing that managed to work for one game.

So yeah... LSU fans.... have fun with that.

This will not end well.

Given the title of the thread, I was certain that its sole content would have been the word, "sucks" - and that it would have been closed to further posts, as all that needed to be said, was.

My bad.

hahaha....

well, thread got moved anyway, but still...

man.. Miss State had no business losing that game.

I didn't watch but the last few minutes of the game and I didn't know whether to laugh or fart when I saw State driving the field while Chavis continued with the whole "bend don't break" prevent mustang package. ...

For a brief moment, I really felt bad for LSU fans.... oh how we all know that feeling soooooo well..

I won't start to feel bad for LSU fans unless they endure another 14 years or so of that. He's the worst prevent coach I've ever seen.

That prowler thing held Florida to 32 points.

The real question is... Why did Mullen decide to air it out on 3rd and 6 inches. Then he goes for a stupid fake handoff draw on 4th.
