Ha I just posted the same thing in the Sports Forum. I didn't know the best place to put it.

Not sure, sounded sudden though, so likely a heart attack.

John was great at his job. Unafraid to editorialize when it was needed, but never went over the top with it.

He will be missed.

Gonna miss John. Good sports reporter and desk anchor.

Not a single article published so far lists cause of death. That's a little troubling, like they're avoiding bad news out of respect for him.

I'm hoping they just haven't confirmed yet how he died, maybe he was found dead and they simply don't know. I really hope it wasn't something bad.

Stephen A. Smith was asked to comment right after hearing the news, and he said that Saunders had a fall years ago that had caused some ups and downs with his health. Obviously, don't know if it had anything to do with it.

Twitter rumor is speculating it was suicide, he struggled with depression.

The Hannah Storm report and just seeing Mike Tirico just tore me up. Whatever the cause, peace be with him and his family. He was one of my favorites and will be missed
