Tennessee is one of the most "balanced" teams in the tourney. He says they may be one of the hardest outs remaining.

I have had to listen to the last two games on XM while traveling. Coach Thompson has called both games. He said that UT is extremely well coached because they play disciplined and balanced emotion. He talked about this in both games. He said that their ability to remain calm in tournament play is a product of their coach's demeanor.

He said TN is peaking in all aspects of their game. He is high on the Vols.

Multiple players with season/career highs tonight and in this tourney. I'd say peaking is correct.

If we play like we have we will have a good chance in every game remaining, hoping Barton found the stroke tonight!

This is especially true if Richardson keeps playing on offense like he has.

Our lack of a great ball handler during pressure is a concern.

Seriously. In one of those diary videos, he was making shot after shot after shot. If he can catch fire and everyone else keeps playing as they have...look out.

CM was the least calm I've seen him and the team and bench were far from calm. They happen to be on fire right now and Stokes and jrich are playing with a damn attitude, with maymon right there. McRae isn't matching their intensity right now, but has still played well at times.

The coach's demeanor. Why is it that others see a good coach at UT but some of their own fans don't?

Len Elmore said "I'm not sure Michigan has an answer for the boys down low. Does Tennessee have an answer for Stauskas?"

I say yep.

can you please stop with this junk. Was the coaching good when fans were pissed?

Have fans been complaining about the coaching and gameplan while winning 8 games and scoring 77 pts during that stretch? or were we complaining while losing , gameplanning horribly and scoring 49, 59 and 60.

It seems only a couple of you are unable to understand the difference in basketball being played.

He is the former head coach of Georgetown. During his tenure he took them to several final fours and won a national title. His son is the current head coach at Georgetown. He knows his basketball.

I was a student at Georgetown in the Ewing and Maxwell days. Coach Thompson was a leader, stoic in many ways, and an example for the men that played for him. In fact, there are many parallels with Thompson to be found in Coach Martin.

Yes, I am that old.:whatever:

Zo's demeanor has changed and most Vols fans like it. I'm wasn't on the hire Pearl bus; however, up to the last two games I was on the fire Zo bus. Players feed off the energy of their coach. Zo is always calm which hurts us on the road. Zo is now standing up and yelling on both offense and defense. He's getting loose and into the game, and our players are playing much more relaxed now. Coach Z at a UT football practice once stated to Croom this before last season started, "Your out here and your mechanics are all jacked up, but you are having fun and I can live with that." In other words, you can learn the tools to be great, but when you are always playing to not screw up you always screw up. Basketball is fun to play and coach, and when you let your emotions out and have fun doing it good things happen. Our team, for the first time under Zo, is having fun, and look at the results. I'm still worried about Zo's coaching abilities in tight games; however, the last two games is a huge leap in the right direction.

During a time out in today's game, Thompson said that he liked the stoic and determined look on the faces of Stokes and Maymon. He then joked that when he coached if one of his big men smiled that he made them run laps.

I think a lot of us forget that Coach Martin is an extremely young coach. His confidence and skill as a coach is growing along with the team's game. All that is very likely allowing him to be less stoic and more passionate. We're finally getting to see more of the emotional CCM and I, for one, am loving what I see.

It's nice to get a chance to watch a coach come into his own. I feel we're seeing a coach on his his way -- steadily progressing into a good and perhaps even an elite coach (don't want to jinx things though).

I got frustrated at times during the season like everyone else but at no point did I EVER call for Cuonzo's job. In fact I thought that several of the losses were more because of inconsistent play moreso than coaching. Hate to tell ya sport, but a player came out and said the plan has been there all along, THE PLAYERS finally came around. That's from the horses mouth.
