A few days old, but this story was just printed in Chattanooga Times Free Press for the Sunday paper yesterday. The highest peak on Jasper Mountain is being re-named "Pat's Summitt" within his new community development. Portions of his proceeds to the land sales are going to the Pat Summitt Foundation and Alzheimer's research.

The local sports radio show had Dane and Thunder on last week talking about the event. Pretty nice support for Pat's foundation.

Yeah I heard them mention it this morning on 102.3 also. Quake and Doc were pretty excited to have Dane and Thunder on the show together, and I missed it. :)

It was a good show.

Did you hear the two guys they had on last week, I missed who they were or where they played football, but I was CRACKING UP!! One of them was talking about playing basketball against somebody and said he'd foul him every chance he got. lol It was hilarious!

They had a couple of UTC players on late last week, but I can't remember who. I caught the tail end of the show, but what I heard was pretty funny!

smart business move by Thunder imo (not saying that is his main reason so don't bash me, kind of the way he gave PM a lot in Thunder farms when he developed that and sales went up, just say'n)

They had Will Healy the WR coach for UTC and Thomas Brown(former UGA RB) now RB coach for UTC on they say the staff plays pickup basketball games together and Brown doesn't like to guard Healy because he is pretty good so he says all I do is just foul him. haha Well then they had BJ Coleman on the other day and they asked him if he ever played basketball against Healy and he said yeah but all he could do was foul him and they laughed because thats the same thing Brown said.

I can't say they are exploting a willing "honoree", but giving her an honor at an event intended to make Thornton money is a bit tacky at best. There are a lot of things that are like that of course.

Marion County people have not held a very high opinion of Thunder since the golf course fiasco.

I feel the same. It sounded like a portion of each lot would go to her foundation, and if that's the case, I think that's a good thing. According to Thunder, they've been friends for a long time. I'm not surprised she was willing to participate - from a fundraiser for her foundation point of view. I hope she enjoyed her day.
