According to this:

ZAGSBLOG Sources: John Wall Down to Two Schools; Fordham Releases a 3rd Player; Recruiting Notes

John Wall is down to two schools — Kentucky and Miami — according to multiple sources close to the situation.

“It’s down to the two of them, no question about it,” one source said. “It is Kentucky and Miami. The kid is leaning toward Kentucky. There is a little bit of a concern with the people closest to him that if he goes to Kentucky that they’re going to lose control.”

Of course, there's been no official announcement. Then again, nothing "official" has come from the Wall camp in weeks.

Speculation: Clifton (Wall's "coach") who is also a former NBA agent is concerned about losing his meal ticket if Wall signs with a school farther from home. In other words, he won't be keep other agents from having access to Wall. I believe this is why he's pushing so hard for Duke (close to home, small campus with limited access). He also has pushed Florida as a fallback b/c he has a "relationship" with Donovan. I have no idea why Clifton appears to have soured on Calipari and UK (maybe he's worried about WWW getting involved there).

There are a million reason why he could be delaying.

1) Power struggle: his camp seems to be split on where he should go
2) Academics: He has not legitimately qualified, won't receive SAT scores until May 21
3) Public relations: Might want to put some distance between the B&E charge and his official announcement

Or maybe he hasn't made up his mind.

But Jody Demling and Evan Daniels both hurried to the UK sites to disclaim this rumor, saying that no list has been trimmed. Wall saying that he has not done so.


This supposed list of 2 schools was provided by "insiders close to the situation". Just giving you the heads up. This kid could end up on mars for all I know.

Also, Dave Telep is saying:

To the best of my knowledge, John hasn't and won't trim his list up. I think this report is erroneous in nature because as of my information this hasn't happened. I think what you'll see the next time around is a final decision. I'd be surprised if he cut his list and then made a decision. I think it happens in one fell swoop.

I don't know Clifton so I don't know what his motivations are, however, I do know that he did NOT play a major role in John's life until two years ago (exactly the same time that John became a big time recruit).

chances are he ends up in another abandoned house before he ends up at a college. Its becoming ridiculous.

FWIW, its UK or Miami from what I understand. Stay tuned, in 2 hours it will have changed.
