John Wall is frustrated with Cal it seems

Wall also went on to say that he has not been happy for two weeks now, frustrated about everything. Apparently Cal's direct comments about his bad play from the SC game is getting to him a little.

As good as the kid is, he just has some growing up to do. All he has ever known is to just be "John Wall", which in high school hoops was have your ass kissed and be allowed to run the entire game.

Whats happening now, is that Cal is trying mold him into a true point guard, and its stifling Johns ability to just roam free. You can notice a big difference between the early OOC schedule and now. This team was young and inexperienced, and leaned on Wall to do everything he could to carry the team. Basically allowing him to run the offense in any way that worked.

Now that conference play is beginning, this team is finding that its bread is buttered down low. Cal actually made the statement that he wanted to slow it down in the Vandy game and play a little more half-court, getting the ball down low. I think John is just having a little bit of a tough time adjusting to being something other than the star all the time. It doesn't mean he's a bad kid.

Someone else on another site made a comparison between Wall and Cousins, that they could possibly be like Kobe and Shaq. Both have extraordinary games, but are so different in their styles that they cannot co-exist. While I don't believe this to be 100% accurate, there probably is a small contest between wills.

In all reality, we can't go far without either of them playing at maximum efficiency. Both are off to greener pasture's come this summer anyway. We'll just ride it out. All in all, I don't think its a big issue.

P.S. The only thing that would irk me is if this thing actually caught a little fire under it, and John Wall for some reason advised C.J Leslie (his ex-teammate) not to come to UK, which at this point seems like a great shot that he will.

Cal is well known to yell at and otherwise berate his players. Wall better get over it and roll with the punches or he will never be happy at Kentucky under Cal.

Wall needs to take his sensitive ass to practice and learn. If Rose could do it at Memphis, then he better be able to do it at UK.

He'll only be playing at UK for a couple of more months anyway...so it doesn't matter what Cal thinks.

Of course it does. Kentucky wouldn't be as good of a team with Walls ass on the bench.

Something tells me that Wall only cares about winning until he loses. A national championship is an amazing feat but if he doesn't win one, he'll be over it within 24 hours. I can think of 15 million reasons for that. If he truly cared, he'd return if Kentucky falls short but he won't. He is only at Kentucky because he couldn't go straight to the NBA. They are a stepping stone.

He's got what 8 more weeks? LOL They squashed their beef. Little stuff. He made a comment on SC how they love each other and what not. The bigger issue was his DIRECT admission to being FOCUSED on "the next level" and preparing for the NBA. Serious problems with the system when they're that assertive ab it.

EDIT: The system being NCAA 1 and dones.

This is just a case of a player not used to being called out and letting his mouth outrun his brain.

In the long run it will make Wall a better player. Which is pretty damn scary.

Bruce Bowen looks like an absolute idiot in that bowtie he's rocking and he generally sounds like a moron on air, but he did make good points last night about how this is more media tripe than anything else. He did acknowledge that a guy like Wall has very few coaches willing to try and make him get better and sit back and learn, so any public admonishment is foreign and painful. Regardless, he says this is crap and is simply viewer grabbing.

No big deal really I think...Tyreke ran into a small little problem with Cal at the first of the season and then Tyreke grew up and that kind of worked out good for him.
