As Interim Coach to finish season. It will get the fans fired up and a great tribute. Hart needs to stop the bleeding NOW.

You can't really think Johnny would accept this, if offered. You're better off naming Palmero for the interim. He's also old and has no business being the HC for any length of time.

Its not panic. Think about the publicity UT would get over the next two weeks. The Majors coaching tree includes Gruden, Bumpas at TCU, Jiimmy Johnson, Fulmer, Sherrill, Cutcliffe, etc.

Yes it is.. It's a gimmick and a bad one at that.. Personally I would like to see things fly a little under the radar for a bit while those able work their a$$es off to get the 'big name' in here then when that's announced it will get publicity.. Good pub, the kind that hopefully gives recruiting a bump..

Lane Kiffin was a gimmick and Everyone enjoyed it including recruits. This gimmick would solidify the fan base temporarily while the search for a new coach gets underway it give the fans something to enjoy plus guaranteed sellout of the Kentucky game.

I see what you did but Kiffin wasn't a gimmick, he was our coach for a short time unfortunately..

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you. I just don't think it's necessary right now.. Dooley is gone.. Everyone that's not in denial knows it. IMO, that coupled with the excitement of knowing 'the powers that be' are getting ready to drop some serious cash to get the real thing for a head coach is going to energize the fan base..

I'm just leary of 'intentionally generated pub' right now.. I want things to quiet down so the coaching search has every chance of being highly successful (beyond our wildest dreams successful, haaa)... Things are going to be OK... :good!:

Because Johnny is obviously the best possible intern coach on earth after being out of coaching since last century...

Lighten up people. Would you rather see Dools on the sideline the next two weeks or Hall of fame coach. It would be a fitting tribute to Coach Majors and Tennessee Tradition. Plus the last time we replaced Coach Majors we had a good run for a decade. Maybe it would give us luck and something to cheer about.
