And since I never know when you are kidding. Is this rumor a a serious one , or Slice joking around?

Nothing to with your post, but did get my message in your e-mail account?? Wasn't sure you did or not.

Now in regards to your post, I know who he's gonna say but gonna see if I'm right.

What bait?

Look, its very simple. I, and others here, have been told that there have been inquiries made by intermediaries to Jon Gruden. It is said he is listening, open, and interested. There has been no official contact between the AD and JG, as that would be improper while we have a sitting coach.

Scale of 1-10....8.5. I base this on knowing who told me, and the quality and similarity of the information posted here by different sources.

Dooley is coaching for his job this weekend. I had heard he was coaching for his job at Georgia, and bought some time with the close score. Multiple sources are saying a loss at Starkville will cause phones to start ringing on Sunday. It matters very little, since Dooley is unlikely to make it through October anyway. 8 on the 10 scale.

Okay, thanks for the info.

No need to get defensive. "Take the bait" wasn't meant to question your info, just my way of saying "okay, what gives?". Way too many threads for me to keep up with all of them.

I guess we'll see how it plays out.

Go Vols.

I know that some people take the subjects we post about here very seriously but right now I am so glad that I can get on here and read/post about things that are more or less insigificant in the grand scheme of things instead of ripping my hair out watching a vice presidential debate.

So if he has a guy in place, that would have to mean that Dooley has been told that he will not be back next year wouldn't it? You don't get a coach when you have one in place.

Highly likely that Slice trying to stir the pot. Either way , just more speculation if true.

Switched over from the game and Biden is laughing like he smoked a joint before he went on tv.

No offense to Slice, but OCI's info carries a lot more weight in my opinion. I'm pretty sure OCI called the JRM commitment and called CP's signing among other predictions, he's also saying Turman is a vol.

I’m gonna chuck my 2 cents into the fray for what they’re worth……

I’ve been following this thread with great hope since its inception and here’s how I see it playing out.

Dave Hart wants to be the man who resurrected Tennessee football. His ego practically demands it. Anyone who doesn’t believe that needs to step away from the bong and breathe some fresh air. Simply put, Dooley wasn’t his hire. Does Hart want him to succeed? Sure….. but once again, Hart didn’t hire him and if he IS successful who gets the credit? Mike Hamilton, that’s who. After all, who hired the guy? And when a once in a lifetime chance comes around (as hiring Gruden would be) you jump on it. For Hart it’s a win-win proposition.

I’ll explain it this way, the same way I explained it to someone else.

Imagine you’re the CEO of a major company (Dave Hart and UT). You came on board in the middle of a ****storm and had as a sales manager a really great guy (Dooley) that was hired by your predecessor (Mike Hamilton). You’re watching the sales figures and they’re kind of ambiguous. You keep telling yourself that there’s a reason for that but the current sales manager seems to be doing a fair job (there’s been some improvement in the numbers) and given enough time he MIGHT turn things around but it’s a toss-up and at this point nothing is for certain. He’s an up & comer and deserves a chance to set things right. All of a sudden you have a chance to hire a sales manager that has posted double-digit gains in every quarter to date (Jon Gruden). He’s worked for multiple Fortune 500 companies and has been proven successful. What do you do? If you’re really invested in being “the guy” that turned your company around you pat your current sales manager on the back and say “Thanks for all you’ve done but we’re going to move in another direction” and hire the big splash guy. It kinda sucks for your current guy but, c’mon….. You’ve got a business to run. And, bear in mind, you’ve only got one shot at it. The “big splash” guy is gonna get snapped up by a competitor if you don’t move now. He simply won’t be there if you take too much time making up your mind. The window is small and closing and if you want to get through it you gotta move!

Now, here’s how it’s a win-win proposition for Hart…… If the “big splash” guy fails you can always tell your Board of Directors “Hey, I made the aggressive move! I’m doing everything I can to turn this ship around!”

Do I want Gruden?? You’d better believe it!! I’m a Raider fan (and have been for almost 40 years) and was heartbroken when they traded him.

Now, do I realistically believe Chucky is coming to Tennessee? I want to believe…. Oh, man, do I want to believe but UT is a big fish in a HUGE pond. There are a LOT of big fish out there. Gruden to Tennessee is almost too much to hope for.

If Hart is able to pull it off I’d do backflips down my street buck-naked. And, believe me, no one wants to see that but my girlfriend (I don’t understand why, bless her heart!)

First off, Gruden has the gravitasse that even impatient bastards such as myself would give five years plus without a peep. Second, if Hart pulls this off he will supplant Dickey as the greatest AD in the history of the program, maybe in the SEC, maybe in the universe.

I wholeheartedly agree with this!! The difference between Dooley and Gruden is that Gruden has actually proven something. That alone gets him more time!
