Keep trollin there Trolly McTrollerson.

I make a lot less money in my current job than many I have been offered because its what I want to do. How do you have this inside information on Gruden and what his motivations are? Maybe he likes the challenge of coaching and is tired of being "Marv Albert".

Like I said I am here because I want our failure of a coach to be sent packing, and although I would love Gruden I have heard 0 anywhere but in this thread about him specifically. Its all the stuff I hear about Dooley that is so disturbing, and from several people that interact daily with him.

If you have a source that backs up all your diatribes then by all means share, but I guarantee you if you know anyone near the HC in terms of working with-under-alongside him that says he is great.......well you probably do not know them that well.

I havent heard Gruden from any of my sources but I have heard from several people I trust 100% that

1. Dooleys job is on the field in Starkville. We lose tomorrow night, he is gone. Not necessarily immediately but the decision will be made and he will most likely know his fate.
2. A friend and former teammate fo mine in HS thta played very successful SEC ball and worked with Saban and Dooley at LSU told me when he was hired that "Dooley is a blue-blood that acts like the spoiled brat that he is every time things do not go his way" and that Saban liked him because he was a "Yes man that was no threat at all". The players there abused him, and the players here do the same except here it matters.
3. Even if Dooley does win in Starkville he will need to look good vs Bama and USCjr and then win the last 4 with a good bowl showing to be GUARANTEED another year.

Well damn that deserves a BOOM! :eek:lol:

Hopefully you will get a belated birthday present if/when Gruden is hired in the near future.

Then we will have a party.:baloon:

Oh I promise you if Gruden comes here the party will be unlike anything We have ever seen...Hell I might have to even have a drink LMAO

Awesome!....And you uh live where?..street and address will be fine and the time and date won't hurt either....Can I have video rights to this event?? :yahoo:

:lolabove: Right!...People have no idea how many top players would be BEGGING to play for him....When you got talent, It makes the job a lot easier..Hell look at Saban

We'd have so many beasts wanting to play for the Vols, the team would be simply GRUsome. :hi:

As to Hart contacting Patterson and him being Harts man. Unless this was done through sending out feelers, it is a smoke screen. As we all know with a HC in place, Hart does not talk to any coach, that's not proper. If Hart has selected Patterson, as has been stated, that can only mean that CDD has been told. And we will be in trouble for not asking his employer for permission to talk to him. Nothing but a smoke screen.

Lunch and I needed a destressor. LOL that or I'm a gluton for punishment....Either way, another thought that comes to mind, and I am an admitted Dooley guy for the next 2 weeks anyway, is how bad it would be to see a mediocre performance this week just good enough to win without any real improvement over what we have seen. Even the doubters have seen moments of good football so far. Pains me to say this but if the figurative tide has already turned against Dooley then it would almost be better to lose by a wide margin if a coaching change is seriously being considered by the AD. No great addition to the conversation I know and it has probably already been discussed here but hey I needed a momentary distraction. Now back to pulling what is left of my hair out.

Similarly, the UGA game was the worst case scenario. We lost a close one. I would have preferred any other result.

I sure as hell hope you're right OV. Gruden 2013

I love the argument by some here, that Gruden wouldn't be a good college coach because he never coached college.

That's like saying a 5 star restaraunt chef would have difficulty cooking for a family at home.

Bad analogy. It would be more like the 5 star chef cooking at the Waffle House. Some would do okay, but others might not fair as well without the prime ingredients and time to prepare the meals.

In the pros you have the best players being paid a lot of money to pursue their craft. There is some development of rookies, but for the most part it is Xs and Os, and effective management. College is a very different environment and not all successful NFL HCs will be successful at the college level.

Not saying Gruden would pass or fail, but it is a valid argument.

Further proving my points about Dooley and how the players feel about him, in La Tech style.

Dykes has been a smash hit in the player-relations department, too. Many of his older players are simply a whole lot happier than they were under Dykes’ predecessor, Derek Dooley, now at Tennessee.

“There was such a big change,” said center Stephen Warner. “Coach Dykes is a whole lot more personable than Coach Dooley was. He’s a guy who’s going to ask you how you’re doing when he passes you in the hallway, instead of not knowing who you are.”

Kind of reinforces my friend that worked with him and his assessment of Dooley as a "Spoiled Blue Blood that the players will never play for".

Another good one:

“And our whole attitude is just better,” Warner said. “Anyone on this team would lay down whatever it took for this program. That’s a lot different from the way it was a few years ago—from ‘It’s about me’ to ‘It’s about us.’”

It's a wonder that Dooley managed to win 8 games and take LATech to a bowl his last season there.

More quotes from my buddy and former teammate in HS that played SEC ball for 4 years that worked with him at LSU. I genericized them a bit as I had his permission to post this as long as I altered identifying characteristics. He still works for a SEC school and doesnt want his name out there. Most of you would know him even with hints lol.

"Worked with him at LSU...blue blood who ain't a leader...trust me, the players probably see it and truly don't respect him and certainly don't fear him; both of which are requisite for a successful football team (SEE: Nick Saban formula for success)."

And

"Unless your ass is playing in the Colonial League or Ivy League, you have to be straight crazy insane with these players. Man, I HATED WORKING FOR NICK!!!! But, always knew it wasn't personal, it was business. He wasn't trying to be all buddy buddy with anybody! He just wanted to WIN and make his money! He carried himself like he would kick a player or coaches ass in a minute and dude, it worked! The players hated his ass but they loved to win too! Nick grew up working class in West Virginia, hard scrabble bruh! Dooley...well..let's just say he would have been the president of Sigma Phi Omega, winner of the Hugh O'Brian Award, Boy's State, student council president, had he lived in our hometown...you know what I'm talking about!"

About sums it up for me, these La Tech players are only reinforcing it.

Players would want to run through a brick wall for Gruden..I know if I was a player, that would be the case for me..They would respect the hell out of him and would want to play hard.

Be careful....some will accuse you of cheering against the Vols with logic like that.

For a similar example....see the Georgia game.

Just to keep things fair and balanced here is a quote from Shaun King, starting Bucs QB in '99, '00.

The ultimate issue, King said, is Gruden’s inability to tell the truth to the grown men who populate an NFL locker room. Specifically, King said Gruden is “inherently dishonest.”

“From a relationship level I think Jon failed,” King said, echoing things that folks in Tampa publicly have said about Gruden for years. Specifically, Gruden had a reputation within the walls of the building of saying one thing and doing another.
