Jones is FINE...BUT

Jones is a decent hire. Same level as Gundy and Strong imo. But what matters most is another hire. The DC. Jones is an offense guy, so now its more important than ever to get a great DC that can improve our awful D. Do that and we can go 8-4ish next year and everyone will hop on board. But screw that hire up and we're doomed.

Jones is not the same level as Gundy or Strong. Not in terms of name recognition or accomplishments (and even they rank well below Bielema, who Arkansas, a program without a single SEC championship, was able to snag). Could he end up being a better coach? Yes, I think so. I have hope. But our AD's job was to hire the guy who gave us the best chance to win, and he failed. Fire Hart and hope for the best with Jones.

Everyone here understands that Butch runs the read option on offense right? He's a rich rod pupil and has never beaten a ranked team. We are in trouble.

Jones is certainly on the level as Strong at least. You can't be a Strong supporter and not support Jones without being a hypocrite really.
