Jones said he will make sure to make it a positive moving forward.

"You know, I treat every one of our players like my sons. It's an educational opportunity, and I promise you this: the punishment will be swift, it will be fair, and they will understand and make the right choices, I can promise you that.

"Everything is about choices, and these were 21, 19-year-old individuals that got caught up and made some poor choices, so we'll deal with it appropriately inside," Jones said. "I will handle that myself and work through our athletic department. But also, everything is a teaching opportunity, and our players understand [that]."

Right on Butch, you are doing this the right way. Keep it in house so all Monday morning QB's won't be telling you how to do your job. I am confident you will take care of business.

Translation: Not a huge issue: Were not kicking off our Starting Linebacker and an important role player off the team.

Do these arrest count towards the Fulmer Cup? If so, we have to be close to leading the race for that this offseason! :eek:lol:

I'm gonna say the Vandy coach being arrested for DUI should count towards the Fulmer Cup this year. At least at UT it's just our players that get locked up...

Handling punishment internally....WE'RE BACK!

Absolutely true... if there's actual bite to it. The problem when Fulmer handled things in house was that his idea of punishment never discouraged anyone from goofing up.

In dawning hours, a cold fog rose from the Tennessee River.
A slow but steady breeze blew a chilling wind that made you shiver.

From the training center came sobbing and yelps of pain;
And a growling voice demandingly asking, “Ain’t you shamed?”

Various voices sang;
In unison and pain.

Yelp ow! Ow, yelp! Ow, ow, ow.
The growl said, “If you weren’t you will be now.

Lightning-like flashes glowed in the window pane.
“Bring another cattle prod. Be sure the brand is the same.”

Butch was handling handling and prodding internally.
Oh the noise, oh the noise, goodness gracious me!

In dawning hours, a cold fog rose from the Tennessee River.
A slow but steady breeze blew a chilling wind that made you shiver.
And you cringed at the noises coming from the training center.
Uh. Uh. Uh. uh.

I have a complete 3 DVD set of bad decisions made during my 4 years at UT however, good news is that I only got caught by KPD twice! Wish CBJ could let them all spend a night in the drunk tank so that they'll think twice about not thinking.

Nicely done. And these quick-draw quipsters can't wait to miss it and say something cute.

I love the fact that he said "I treat all of these guys as my sons."

I'm sure that coaches say that in a living room. But I haven't ever heard people say it on record. Just really stuck out to me.
