Both in recruiting outside his program and the day-to-day operations inside, Jones preaches relationships.

“We’re in a relationship-based business,” as he explains it.

And he’s practiced what he’s preached in reaching out to two coaches within arm’s length that have combined for more than 560 career wins and more state titles than either have fingers for.

Butch Jones never hesitated to reach out to Quarles, Rankin - The Daily Times: Sports

In before that guy from Jefferson City that's always pushing Quarles to be UT's coach. (He used to wear Tony B. out with that stuff).

Then he really needs to be reaching out to Brentwood Academy, MBA, Ensworth, Christian Brothers, MUS, and perhaps finding Carlton Flatt and making him his assistant head coach.

He has already turned down the Furman gig years ago I believe.

He makes so much money hanging out in Maryville not having to work endless nights. People that know him say he has no desire to coach college ball.

That story makes me proud to be a Blount Countian. Watching Maryville & Alcoa play is special. They're like machines. Both HC must be excellent at motivation. Rankin yells a lot & I don't think I've ever seen Quarles mad. He's very even-keeled. Both approaches must work!!
Everyone should try to see both of these teams play if at all possible. The Maryville-Alcoa game is unreal. The atmosphere is crazy!
