Inside houses in the state of Tennessee, there are often pictures of Jesus Christ and Peyton Manning or Fulmer or General Neyland, often side-by-side and not in any particular order.

It’s not just a game there, it's a theatre, a religion.

Kids want to be loved and they want to be a part of something like that, bigger than themselves.

The in-state schools are great. Duke, ECU, UNC and N.C. State have all had some success in college football, but there is no Mecca here, no Apollo, no Colosseum.

It's funny that we talk the Carolinas cause the one recruit we did not get that nearly 20 years later still eats at my craw is Derrick Chambers committed to us for months and then on signing day signs with the Gators he said he only reason he committed to us was to keep his friends off his back I'm glad he never amounted to anything.
