Jones: Vols' newcomers will be 'special'
I think we're on the verge of something special, and I agree it will have started with this class.
I think we're on the verge of something special, and I agree it will have started with this class.
Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Wednesday that the 32 newcomers from the Vols 2014 signing class have made plenty of progress and are going to be a special class.
I was driving home last night thinking about the 32 signees and how much theyve progressed, and theyre going to be a special class, he said. And, like I said, some are ahead of others at this particular moment, but every individual is different. But Im as encouraged and excited as Ive ever been about the future and where were going.
Jones comments came during his answer to a question pertaining to Tennessee freshman defensive back Evan Berry impersonating Utah State quarterback Chuckie Keeton on the Vols scout team during Wednesdays practice.
Weve had a lot of people (doing that), and its hard to impersonate (Keeton), Jones said. But Evan has done a great job, and Evans one of those individuals where every practice he continues to get better and better and better.
