Jones: Vols' newcomers will be 'special'

I think we're on the verge of something special, and I agree it will have started with this class.

Tennessee coach Butch Jones said Wednesday that the 32 newcomers from the Vols’ 2014 signing class have made plenty of progress and are going to be “a special class.”

“I was driving home last night thinking about the 32 signees and how much they’ve progressed, and they’re going to be a special class,” he said. “And, like I said, some are ahead of others at this particular moment, but every individual is different. But I’m as encouraged and excited as I’ve ever been about the future and where we’re going.”

Jones’ comments came during his answer to a question pertaining to Tennessee freshman defensive back Evan Berry impersonating Utah State quarterback Chuckie Keeton on the Vols’ scout team during Wednesday’s practice.

“We’ve had a lot of people (doing that), and it’s hard to impersonate (Keeton),” Jones said. “But Evan has done a great job, and Evan’s one of those individuals where every practice he continues to get better and better and better.”

In other words.. You will see a complete beat down on USU Sunday night

Should the game be close, at any point, I would think that this coaching staff will be able to make adjustments and pull away with a sizeable win.
