She was at Big Ten School Purdue for 11 years until 2000 appointed to senior AD position at UNC Asheville. Appears she favored and pushed for Big Ten Ohio State over SEC Tennessee.

Yep. Had to be a conspiracy against the Lady Vols. Couldn't have been the losses to decent, but certainly not great, teams like Florida and Kentucky.

yep, I bet this will no almost garuntee you will never see a team play all top 25 teams in your non conference. if this is the way they award the sec champs in the best confrence with the best record aginst the top 25, number 2 rpi, and number 1 sos, then you will probably never see tennessee play a grueling non confrence schedule again. at least not for a while.

Summit will keep playing the best teams. It's an integral part of her philosophy.

You can't discount the RPI's. You can discount soft leagues though.i.e., Big Ten, and LSU beat them at OSU by 16.

She may actually be happy to be a 2 seed... although I'm sure she is UNHAPPY about the draw, what a tough bracket!

Point being, after playing such a tough schedule, no team is better prepared to play in the tournament than the Lady Vols.

I agree, but that's not the issue. We're paired with the strongest #1, and no matter what Comstock says, that makes us the weakest #2. That's where we (and UNC, and probably Rutgers) got screwed.

Conspiracy, no. Bias, yes.

I dislike Myles Brand and his cronies at the NCAA. They're over paid and make some absolutely ridiculous rulings. Remember the school mascot political correctness ruling?

We deserved a 1 seed...losing 4 games all season is NOT bad. Even though Ky was unranked, they're now a 5 seed.

Both UT and LSU lost to Florida.

We lost to LSU, but beat them in the SEC Tourny.

And we lost to Duke, who is a 1 seed.

So, we lost to two one seeds, a 5 seed, Kentucky and Florida a 6 seed.

I believe I heard them on ESPN saying we've already BEATEN 20 of the tournament teams. How does that NOT earn a one seed?

Code:
                         w   L     ss   sos  RPI
   1. North Carolina    29   1  .6462   4  .7263
   2. Tennessee         28   4  .6854   1   .7199
   3. Duke              26   3  .6461   5   .7036
   4. Connecticut       29   4  .6520   3   .6963
   5. Oklahoma          29   4  .6335   7   .6873
   6. LSU               27   3  .6235   8   .6864
   7. Ohio St.          28   2  .6052  19   .6798

I'd say losing TWO more games than OSU makes up for their 19sos.

Comstock to the AP...
``I don't know that there's been a year where there's been
greater parity,'' Comstock said. ``Strength of schedule is
something we do look for and it's important to the committee. The
schedule Tennessee played this year and plays most years, however,
as close as it was, we felt that Tennessee this year was a No. 2
seed.''

I read this three times and it still makes no sense to me. If there is so much dadgum parity, then how the heck do you not stand up and honor the team that won more non conference games against tough teams than anyone else even played?

Basically she's saying we gave UT a 2 seed because we wanted to. No other reason.

SoS didn't even begin to matter.

You earn the post of the morning... that pretty much sums it up.

lady vols didnt deserve a #1 seed

Deserve? #1 in Strength of Schedule! #2 RPI. SEC Champions. There is no way you can stack Ohio State up against those numbers. Opinions on who is the better team is not what matters when choosing seeding. Its what have you actually done. Those numbers right there are concrete and they are deserving of a #1 seed.
