I saw on another site someone posting about an interview with Jordan Howell on the radio. Apparently, he had talked to Chris Lofton and was told that Tatum was the designated driver for the quartet. He also mentioned that he was very surprised that Tatum was involved in anything and that he had never seen guns around any of them. Apparently, though, he was not surprised with Williams and Smith toking. Goins he doesn't know. Anyone else hear this?

In any event, sounds about on par with what I've heard as far as the nature of the guys involved. Tatum is supposed to be a pretty good kid typically on the straight and narrow, but Williams and Smith are the pot heads.

Dont know if this info is 100 percent, but seems to me to be the best take I have heard so far about what was going on.

yeah....you're dead on......I'm a really good judge of character, and it goes down like this:
1. Tatum is a great kid, just hangin' with his dumb teammates

2. Goins - no clue, although I would say hopefully similiar to above

3. Tyler - into the tweeds, prob. some guns

4. Williams - looks to be up to no good, major pot guy, probably deals, probably had the altered serial # gun..... he's a cool guy, but that's also part of his problem......aka total NJ thug

So......in essence, if anyone gets canned, guess who?? yup....... you got it...... but it gets trickier than that, bc/ someone has to fess up first!! yes, and someone gets tossed under da bus, I think........

I was surprised Tatum was in all this mess as well. When they said there were two guys - I automatically assumed T. Smith and Williams. Don't really know anything about Goins though.

I agree. Tatum was simply staging a road trip intervention. He knew nothing of the guns, weed, or Hypnotic.

Probably deals? Try obviously. I mean, he smokes and is from the northeast, do the math. And the gun had to have been his, just because.

One of Tatum's charges was having an open container of alcohol. Designated driver? Not.

Police report said the all admitted knowledge of the guns. Alcohol was in plain sight in the back seat as well. I believe there was also a beer can in plain sight also. As for the weed, if the car truly smelled like weed, like the cop said, I doubt Tatum was oblivious it was there.

I am irritated by everyone who is so quick to say that all four should be kicked off. They are all at least 21, and there was no drinking and driving. So forget the alcohol. As for the pot, that's a strike. If someone has priors (failed tests, caught w/ possession), then that person could be kicked off. The real deal is the guns. Four guys, two guys. That is what needs to be sorted out.

Tatum got the open container because no one would fess up as to whose it was, therefore I'm pretty sure that by TN law, the driver gets the open container citation. He wasn't given a breathelizer (sp?) so the odds are pretty good he wasn't drinking.

As far as Tatum being involved in this, I have a very reliable source within the program who tells me that all Tatum is really guilty of is wrong place, wrong time. He actually is a pretty good kid.

This is what I am hearing as well...seems to have a lot of backing and by people involved with the program

Right. I had a buddy who was a DD and someone in the back had a beer can, but the DD was given the open conatiner citation. I still think it's the drivers responsibility to know. He should have refused to drive if he knew what was in the car. It's just common sense. But if that's all he's guilty of, I don't think that is enough to warrant expulsion from the team, let alone school. But I can understand a suspension.

I don't know about the others. It sounds as though Williams and Smith are the two most at fault. But that is just through speculation on the few available facts.
