good. now we just sit back and wait for CAIR and the ACLU to start bleating like sheep about how his rights were violated and that it was a show trial.

It was a show trial. Everything that he was originally arrested for was not even used in the trial. The Feds had to pair him with two others to link him to 'conspiracy' and the charges are some of the easiest charges to prove. Keep in mind the 'dirty bomb' charges never saw the light of day.

Well he filled out an "application" for Al-Quada in English, Spanish, and Arabic so obviously he was going to try and get into something. Good riddance IMO.

He was found guilty though. What would you suggest was the proper action; set him free?

Found guilty of a weak charge and sparse evidence. It's ironic how he was initially built up to be this evil monster with dirty bombs, etc. and all they can get him on was applications and fingerprints on the first and last page of a mulit-document item.

He was supposed to be the embodiment of the war on terror. He was the evil guy who was home-grown and trying to kill thousands of his own people. How sad that everything the government said he was they failed to prove. Again, evidence that the government fluffs up items that later appear to not be true. And they wonder why the public is skeptical.

Urine tests as well. I hope Padilla doesn't fight dogs. It could kill his signing bonus.

Their retirement plan doesn't require sticking around. Actually to GET the retirement plan, you HAVE to take it to the next level....paradise and all of those virgins.

You are correct. I though of that after I posted. Paradise and Virgins...I need to talk with my current employer about the lackluster plan I am getting from him.

I understand what you are saying but I still believe the guy was a problem and guilty. I'd rather see him caught on something (at least it was terrorist activity) than free to carry out activities.

Again, I never said the guy was innocent or was not a criminal. but he was played up to be America's Bin Laden or a mass murderer in the making when in fact he was a guy at the level of running a red light. And before the knee-jerk begins that statement refers to the extremes of what was given to the public and the outcome of the trial itself.
