Josh Heupel press conference

I feel we’ve really got a chance of having an unbelievable season with extreme focus and some luck to fall our way. I never would’ve imagined this guy would be getting results this quick. Honestly I thought Tennessee may never reach the top tier again. Thank god for Josh Heupel and Danny White!!! For whatever we had done, I believe we finally served our sentence and we are Free!!!! 😆

I gotta be honest. When he was hired the most I expected was that he would get us back to 7-8 win seasons, which 3 years ago, I would've taken all day. I am so thankful that Danny White had the intestinal fortitude to hire CJH, cause if it wasn't for his decision, I'm not sure we would be where we are today.

I see a bright future for CJH. Hopefully sticks around Rocky Top for decades to come. The man could run East TN.

Didn’t really know where to put this but doesn’t it seem like CJH is recruiting not only excellent talent but also a certain quality of young men? If you watch media interviews, most if not all are extremely respectful (yes sir, no ma’am), they are mostly well-spoken and seem to be getting at least some training on what to say/not to say in front of camera.

Just seems like a complete 180 from the last staff to this one. 👍

Oh most definitely, we all had our favorites during the Pruitt years and Butch years, but I genuinely like pretty much all of these guys and think they represent the university well

Rather than trying to find “the 5 best guys” to play OL, we are now in the position of having 5 legitimate OTs competing for 2 tackle spots. I really like the depth we are building.

Heup is so chill when he talks now compared to a year or so ago. Not that he ever was super nervous or anything but you can tell he's like yea this is mine !
I think having more depth at this point makes him more comfortable, and that is understandable 😂.. can’t wait to see what this team does!

On the topic of talent and depth, considering what he and his staff did with less, I am excited to see what he can do with more. He is finally getting HIS players from sideline to sideline. I believe this is the year we truly find out if we have turned the corner. (no pun intended)

The guy has CLASS! He acknowledges success in other TN university sports.
Not sure I have ever heard Saban or Smart mention the other sports programs at their university.

That’s because DW is a real AD. He has the entire athletic dept and it’s student athletes, supporting each other.

Inarticulate players relate to inarticulate coaches. Articulate players relate to articulate coaches. Recruiting reflects the basic nature of these relationships.
