Starts playing in Poland tomorrow. I think after this summer of him maturing and learning to play the point guard more often were gonna have a real stud on our hands

I hope he can find a stroke in Poland. Would be nice to see some good offense accompany his defense.

I always wanted to be a real good B ball player but I never could afford to go to Poland.

False, I think he has potential to lead our team in scoring as a senior. Unless Jarnell stays of course.

If Richardson leads the team in scoring any year that he is here, then UT will probably have the lowest ppg average in all NCAA men's basketball.

I'd rather him make an All defensive team than lead us in scoring. We already have people who can score, we need a shane battier or tyson chandler type to defend now.

Richardson has a nice mid-range pull up game for a Freshman, but he doesn't really strike me as aggressive enough to be the main focus on offense. IIRC he didn't even really light it up in the Rocky Top league. 10ppg/4rpg and stopping the other teams best perimeter player would be a wonderful role for Josh.

Who was the kid LSU had a few years ago, temple maybe? Always guarded lofton and made it a long night, great defender average scorer at best, but was a difference maker with his defense.

Not a Div. 1 player and if Martin is counting on him leading any charge he will be out of a job around the time Richardson graduates.

Richardson isn't a d1 player?

I'm not sure how much basketball you watch, but this is definitely one of the top 5 dumbest posts in VN history.

I hope to see Richardson develop into a perimeter shooting threat. That coupled with his strong defense will make him into a legit contributor.

Guess we agree to disagree. Not hating on the kid or Martin, but we will never build an SEC Championship with his type of player. Yes he can play a little defense but he is a turnover machine and no threat offensively.

He was a freshman, do you expect all freshman to come in and play like seniors?

Michigan state and Izzo are notorious fur having some 3*(which is what Richardson was), and they do just fine. You're not gonna have all 5* sorry, but we're gonna have to have some role players.

I didn't see Richardson being a liability when he had the ball in his hands, so I don't see where you say he was a turnover machine. Might be confused with Washpun. And no, he will probably not ever be a big threat offensively, but if he can average 10 pts a game his Senior year and play solid defense from now til then, then he will be a very good contributor and role player. Every team needs them.

I do agree though, that we will not win an SEC championship with a team full of Richardsons. You will need some better player ala, Maymon, Stokes, Hall, Golden, McRae. There's your 4 and 5 stars.

He played in 34 games, avg less that 1 turnover per game. Most in one game was 3, and that only happened once.

That is pretty good for a freshman.
