Well if he doesn’t do anything exciting or exceptional against Miss St... I’d say this groin injury didn’t affect his game.

well, any injury is hard to deal with and trying to play at your best...a groin can be reaggravated if not properly given time to completely heal...dang, it's always something...

If he sits today to heal.... anyone have an idea how long to heal?

Impossible to say. "Groin injury" can cover a large array of problems from a simple issue to an avulsion at the attaching bone. The longer you play with one, the longer it can take to heal. Full stop rest = cure.

It funny. If you look at the stats for the guards within 5 or 6 rankings. Hmmmm he is doing pretty freaking good

A lot of negativity out there. I prefer to look at all the positives James has provided. There are lots of people who just love getting in those barbs and jabs.
Just my opinion, but some Vol fans were expecting James to have a similar impact like Anthony Edwards at Georgia or Achuwa at Memphis have had. James though a 5 star will likely blossom next year. But this year he has had to get adjusted to the level of college D1 and Barnes system. Expectation for next season will be high. The incoming Frosh will likely have to adjust as well.

Let's look at the stats of the 5 star guards/wings across the country and see how Josiah is doing...

Anthony Edwards (UGA) 2nd 19 ppg / 5rpg / 3 apg (Best freshman in the country and will likely be a top 3 pick)

Scottie Lewis (UF) 7th - 8.5 ppg / 4 rpg / .5 apg

Nico Mannion (Zona) 9th - 14 ppg / 2.5 rpg / 6 apg

Tyrese Maxey (UK) 10th -13 ppg / 4rp / 3 apg

Kahlil Whitney (Uk > transferred) 11th - 3 ppg / 2 rpg / .5 apg ...ooooof

Josh Green (Zona) 13th - 12 ppg / 5 rpg / 2.5 apg

Bryan Antoine (Nova) 17th - 1.5 ppg / .5 rpg / .2 apg (He's having a hard time even cracking the rotation)

Samuell Williamson (U of L) 19th - 5 ppg / 3 rpg / .5 apg

Tre Mann (UF) 21st - 5 ppg / 2 rpg / .5 apg (ouch)

Josiah Jordan James (UT) 22nd - 8 ppg / 6 rpg / 3 apg

Keion Brooks (UK) 24th - 5 ppg / 3rpg

Patrick Williams (FSU) 26th - 8 ppg / 3 rpg / 1apg

Looks like Josiah is tied for 6th in points, and leading in rebounds, and tied for 2nd? in assist per game?

Can tell we have a bunch of non athletes on this board. I dealt with a strain quad at the beginning of a season and was a struggle just to get prepared to be able to play. Some days it was great and others were terrible AND had to start working on it an hour before everyone else just to get ready to actually play in pain. Kid is giving his all and some of you guys make jokes at his expense. You won’t pull a groin on the couch cause your too busy sitting there pulling on your dic..... because that’s the only body part you’ll be pulling.

It’s weird how much hate on this board our best freshman gets before his first year is even up
I’m not trying to be negative. It sucks that he has been dealing with an issue.. but my immediate reaction was that TN was using his injury as an excuse to why we haven’t been winning. It’s like when they announced Turner was dealing with a bad shoulder and we all go “well that makes sense”.

Our fanbase isn't able to "act like we've been there yet". Get a 5* player and if he's not Kobe by the first tournament, then they start whining. James is the best freshman player that we have right now. Glad he's here.

That’s because we deserve better and shouldn’t settle for mediocrity!!!
