Latest Dale Jr. to 'news' MORE: Depending on who one believes in the Nextel Cup garage, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. is headed either to Ginn Racing with sponsorship from Budweiser or Joe Gibbs Racing with backing from credit card giant Visa. Either way, expect an announcement next month. “We're trying not to comment too much on how things are going or what's going on until we can really have something to say, but I can tell you that things are positive,” Earnhardt said after qualifying on Friday. “I've just been overwhelmed with the personalities that I've met, with the owners and the individuals working at each company. There are certainly a lot of great people out there with good morals and good values and with great attitudes about the sport and about what they want to accomplish. It makes me feel good about where the sport's going to be in the next 5-10 years with some of these individuals I've met.”(SPEEDtv.com)
UPDATE: on FoxSports NASCAR pre-race from Dover, Jeff Hammond said sources tell him that Dale Earnhardt Jr, would sign with Joe Gibbs Racing and have sponsorship from VISA, with the announcement coming within the next 10-14 days.(6-3-2007)

LMBO!!!! I heard Mike Joy pick Jeff Gordon to be the 2007 Nextel Cup Champion and I thought,"Yeah, right". Give me a break. Only time will tell who wins the Nextel Cup,not these know-it-all talking heads who dominate the NASCAR media.

And yes,it would be quite humbling (and amusing) for Hammond and the idiots at Fox to have egg on their faces.

Mike Joy, severe Alzheimer's sufferer, is clearly still living in approximately 2000 where the championship battle would be over. Unfortunately Mike doesn't seem to realize Gordon wouldn't even be leading the standings if the Chase were to start right now.

It is my sincerest hope that whoever scores the mosts points without the aide of the chase equalizer wins the championship.

With the long term investment that Anheuser-Busch has made in Junior, they'll open the wallet as much as is nessecary to keep him in the Bud car. Just a hunch

Budweiser has no say in where Jr. goes. and it's not like Visa is going to be offering to pay in peanuts.

I realize this, i was simply making an observation based on how i see things playing out. I'd appreciate if you didn't respond to me as if i was a child. Thank You.

Budweiser is wanting to stay with DEI from what I have heard in the past week or two. So its not looking good for JR. and Bud to be together next year right now.

Hammond or someone in one of those booths was mentioned Adidas as well as a sponsor. That's something I think I could get behind.

There's an article on thatsracin.com reporting a VISA official has stated there have been no talks with Dale Jr. or any other NASCAR driver concerning sponsorship.

Soo, looks like Mr. Hammond's sources were wrong again.
