Juan McCain showing his true colors.

From what I have read these are outdated and we have moved on to more modern models. If some of the military people on here want to correct me on this, please feel free. Anyway, I see Obama and McCain are both on the same page here. I love Obama using this as some grandstanding to show how hawkish he is on wasteful spending. He is going to veto the defense bill if these are not taken out. What a joke. If they are truly wasteful then they shouldn't be in the bill but I find it kind of hard to stomach that he all of a sudden has an issue with out of control spending. Besides, wouldn't this stimulate the economy.

The F-22 rules the skies and we don't have all that many.

Why do you supposed that Obama is so opposed to a US missle defense system??

I think the sticking point on this issue is the President wants the ashtray and lighter options taken out of these planes.....

The AF Times reported they are going to stand up a few more 22 squadrons while standing down several F-15 squads. The bulk of them are making room for the new 35s....if/when that ever comes around.

Anywho, the need for a superior air to air fighter will always be needed, there really hasn't been a need for one in a quite some time. Although the 22 can do Air to ground as well, the 35 will take the charge in the area.

We also need more c17s, could have used the new C-27, and upgrades on all C5s, not just the B models. So if yall have some spare change....
