Juinor college DT's?

Should we have signed possibly 1 to 3 j.c. def. tackles to give us some immediate help this year?Also this is my first thread to post so don't hurt me too bad.

I really think Bolden and Mapu will perform great this season, but depth may be the biggest issue at DT

I don't know about 3, but two could work out. Terrance Cody is a huge 6'8", 375 lb, 5.4 40 DT and we're in the race for him (offers: AL, Ole Miss, Tenn). Justin Thompson, a Miami commit, is 6'5", 290 w/ a 4.9 40 and could be a possibility if we get him for an official visit. (offers: Miama, Nebraska, OSU, Oregon, Oregon State, Tenn, Tex A&M, Cal & LSU.) Two very solid prospects. There is also Blake Gumm, a 6'2", 305, 4.9 40 DT from Athens, TX. No news is out on him yet.

Did we just not recruit any dt's(j.c.) or did we try and just not get any?

I think we had a few JUCO DT prospects, but we didn't land any.

We look for JUCO linemen every year. It is hard to land them because good ones are at a premium and every school wants them.

Yup, Cody is the answer to the question "who would play NT in a 3-4 for us?".

that cat is massive, but Toeina was that big and his play wasnt that impressive.

wasn't Toeina a OL? The guy they ae talking about is a DT so don't know if your comparison holds up.

well, size is indeed important, but we're talking about a 375 pound body.... i think the main question is obviously endurance.

Chief likes a 5 man rotation at DE and DT so I think he should be fine.
