I mean that’s awesome for Phillips, but he’s going to have to put in a lot of work to make a difference in the nba. I seen forwards out muscle him in college, and the guards get underneath him and cause him to lose the ball. I’m along for the ride tho gives me a reason to watch the bulls

This is why elite athletes head to the draft as quickly as possible now. Hard to tell an 18-year old kid to turn down $6 million fully guaranteed. That’s lifechanging money and basically ensures even if he doesn’t make the league he’s got a secure future. Good for him. Hope he crushes it.

No doubt...I don't think this can be overstated...even a "low end" contract like the one he just signed is so much more than even a high level BS degree can provide...

I am a 42 year old senior level mechanical engineer...I have been senior level and making over six figures for the last 8 years...my total career earnings in my 17 year professional career don't equate to one year of this kids contract...

That's why you go if you get a solid second round grade....and I know some people will point to taxes and agent commissions and all of that stuff...but I promise you even with all of that it is still substantially more than even the most lucrative career a BS degree will give you right off the bat...you don't risk an injury and being relegated to that kind of living just because he might grade out higher the next year

I just need one more person ready to give unsolicited financial advice to these Young Men.

Young Men, you've been blessed with riches most can only dream of. Save and invest wisely in low-expense-ratio index funds, maintaining your age in bonds, and remember that DuckInAPen is here for you.

Just proves the theory that if your considered an elite player even if your one college season is not great you can still get insane $ from the NBA. No reason to stay. Good for him making the right decision.

They know that even though he didn’t light up the scoreboard, he had a year of sound preparation in an excellent program for teaching kids how to improve their overall game.

He could’ve signed an 80 million dollar contract and a small but vocal minority on here would still be saying he needed to come back and lift weights and live in a dorm for another year. Make hay while the sun shines, secure the bag

Oh yea I totally agree I’m just saying what I see could be a problem for him but also I’m looking forward to seeing him develop in the nba. I never said he should come back especially since he just got life changing money.

You should have used the blue font.

It’s more fun to see if anybody believes it without.

What's the NASDAQ 100's target for North Korean equities? Anything less than 25% and you can forget it.

Check the pink sheets for the Dear Leader plays.

Be careful with 5 of the Magnificent 7 until the pros are done adjusting the NAS100. TSLA and META might be okay, but MSFT, NVDA, AMZN, GOOGL, and AAPL have appreciated too much to fit the rules.
