Junior Seau's family has sued the NFL, claiming violent hits caused brain disease which led to his suicide.

wondering what VolNation has to say about this

Might as well sue the NCAA, high school and pee wee. Unless you think they were negligent.

Not surprised really.

I hope the Titans go and make some drastic moves, football won't be around much longer and I would appreciate it if it didn't end in a whimper for my team.

The suit will probably settle out of court to keep the NFL's name from being drug through the mud any farther.

Somebody should have explained to him and family before signing his contract that it was dangerous.

A lot of people would probably do the same in their position, but it's bush league. Seau made millions...he was compensated for what he put his body through.

He played till he was 40. You think he plays those last five years if he gets another twenty to spend with his family?

I bet he takes the latter.

I'm sure they didn't (and still don't) mind the money he made playing

The medical evidence behind concussion related suicides is still very much inconclusive.

He didn't die from playing football. He took his own life. Most guys just retire, and don't kill themselves. I'm not sure he would take the next 20 years with his family, because he had the choice, whatever frame of mind he was in, and decided he didn't want that.

Maybe his depression was all about being in the limelight and then being completely forgotten?

Or maybe it was caused by CTE, you know, the thing they found in his brain?

I get that, but the problem is we don't know what he'd have done in the absence of CTE. There are so many factors that could play into his act. I just have a problem with finding the NFL culpable based on science because there is a lot of uncertainty...now if the NFL hid information, or something like that, then I think they should be held liable.

He was a linebacker and was never diagnosed with a concussion.

Let's be honest here.

And he gets a lot of the blame for that. The Chargers and Pats get some blame for that. I don't think the NFL deserves any blame. If he had 0 diagnosed concussions he was hiding his injuries. I read that he had his own training room set up so he could keep injuries on the DL.
