Everyone knows Butch wanted to redshirt his two freshmen QB's. Is it possible he didn't want Worley running to avoid injury since his backup QB's were the freshmen?

I've always thought that was the case because when Worley "had" to run, he ran for good yardage.

I've often thought the same thing. Public statements about wanting him to run more were simply to keep the opposing team thinking he might.

I kept hearing that the coaches told him to run, but he just wouldn't. The poster right before me could be right about that though.

You may be right, but I really don't think so. I think Butch and Coach Jake really wanted him to keep the ball more on the read, even if just a couple times per game. I don't see that saying you want your QB to run more is going to effect the gameplanning of opponent's DCs, but having a QB actually keep the ball on a few plays will begin to cause a bit of hesitation among the opponent's LBs and safeties as they actually have to account for the QB possibly keeping the ball. And this offense is going to be much more effective if the QB will keep the ball some.
