Went to the IRL race at Texas Motor Speedway. Awesome race with incredible speeds and wheel to wheel action.
The guys from Orange County Chopper were there and drove a custom job around the track for the pace laps.
The attached pic is the battle for first among the eventual winner (Scheckter), the Indy500 winner (Wheldon), last year's series champ (Kanaan) and Sam Hornish. They are doing about 215+ in that photo.
Anyone who thinks the IRL isn't competitve or exciting isn't paying attention.
Next stop is Richmond where they average about 55 mph faster than the NASCAR guys.
(NOTE: I'm not dogging NASCAR-I'm a fan. Just suggesting that if you like racing, give the IRL a try -- it's very intense). :rocks:
