Got to meet Randy Sanders last night (no comment one way or another) After the game, went and talked to one of the players (not naming for obvious reasons) with some other friends. He was asked about the loss and his words were "we suck" Hate to say it but I agree with him. Noticed all the guys in their suits but was left wondering why one player I saw was wearing extremely casual clothes and I asked the player we were with about it and seems there are some players that have their own rules. Think there is a lack of discipline? No one seemed like they cared that we lost, not that I was looking for anyone to be trowing stuff or crying, but it seemed like there could have been some emotion.

Sorry to hear about that. I wonder if the coaches showed a little more emotion, the players would develop leadership qualities and follow suit?

One thing you can say about ND. They cared about winning.

All of these off the field problems we had, its just a reflection on the fact that UT's players think they can get away with stuff everyone else can't. I can't imagine anyone being to blame for that except Fulmer. He is too loose with this team in all aspects, practice, grades, games, everything.

Its one thing to have a a ton of off the field problems when you are a national championship contender, its quite another to have those kind of problems and not even go to a bowl. Why do we tolerate these kind of attitudes from players who wont even lead a team to a bowl game??? Hamilton needs to clean house, players, coaches, everything.

I am truly sorry that you had this kind of experience with the players and coaches. For a player (any player) to make those kind of remarks is a tell, tell sign. The discipline is gone. As fans and donors (it makes no difference how much a fan gives) we should expect class, discipline, and pride for our school, from these STUDENT-ATHELETES. Fans spend alot of money running up and down the interstates to follow this program and support this program. I can tell you that the boys from Notre Dame would not act like the way you just remarked after the game, win or lose. Coach Fulmer has stated in the past that he recruits character not charactors. Get the discipline back, and quit being a father figure to these players. Enforce the rules and stick with them. :lolabove:

That player is a good guy, just expressing his frustration. At least he seemed to care.

Let's ease up just a bit, gents, and take a bit of a longer view. It is just a game, so I'm asking all the playstation all-americans to take a deep breath. The players are really down right now. I know one of the folks on the staff who was on the field yesterday. The kids came to UT to win and the coaching staff is letting them down. Players make plays, but only if they have been coached to do so during practice.

I think if that player made the trip to Southbend, IN, then he cared to play. Just frustrated. It happens....

I know watching the game I was doubtful if we could even compete with ND but I still showed up with my orange colors and ball cap. It's all about pride and tradition win or lose.

CFP has a good overall record. We were due a bad season IMO. I'm still of the opinon when you win everybody says "you're lucky" and when you lose "you suck."

At any rate, we have to focus on our last 3 games Memphis, Vandy, and Kentucky!

Go Vols!

I don't mean to be a fly in the ointment but am I the only person that thinks maybe Troop has something to do with the lack of discipline? I mean, there is a line between coaches and players and I think Troop thinks we should let them run. I just think that he has brought some great players our way but at what cost? :dunno:

Nice to hear that the players can admit that they aren't very good despite some of you fans out there that seem to think that the players are still better than anyone else's in the nation.

You cant believe everything people say. You have to see for yourself sometimes. I've been saying all along that these players were EXTREMELY overrated. I watch the games just like everyone else. They dont impress me at all, they never did. I can't speak for CPF's comments, but it is clear that these guys aren't losing all of these games because of bad coaching and bad luck. Not 4 times in a row. Even the game they came back to win, they didn't look that good. Offense is terrible. Bottom line. Coaching wasn't anything to write home about, but more importantly these players aren't very good either.

Show me a post where anyone on here has mentioned that our players are better than any in the nation. There might have been some talk of it in the preseason, but nothing recent.

This "bunch of players" is exactly just that. We have no team at all and too many players. I have no compassion for a player that says we suck. If his fire is gone, then give up your spot and scholarship to someone else. CFP has one off season to get it in gear. He must get some control over his program or get out. It sickens me to hear a player give up like this.

Did I say he gave up? Did I say he was a starter? Did I say he was on scholarship? I have plenty of compassion for him and those that give it their all! If you just lost four in a row you might be frustrated and say it too. I do completely agree (as would this player) there is no discipline on the team. Some players are treated better than others and the coaches need to lay down the line equally for everyone so that they understand "TEAM"

IMO if the player says we suck then he has given up. We have no use for that kind of attitued. Go out and do something about it instead of selling out to the masses.
