Just heard on sport talk

here in Chattanooga, that Brent Shaffer is going to be a gator next year!!! I couln't find any info to back this up but that is what they said.

Anyone see a Schaeffer? I don't. That is what he is putting out, there are other QB's higher on UF's list than Schaeffer.

I don't know man. That's just what I heard about 4:30 today on the radio. I'm definatly not trying to start a rumor, I mean, I really hope that this isn't true because it would suck if he DID actually play for them and he beat us.

well if he did he will sit behind leak next year and have only one year to start. That would defeat the purpose of going to JC only ride the pine the fowlling year with only 1 year to start.
I feel he will go where he will be the man for 2 years.

That rumor has been making the rounds on the sports shows. Brent's mother and his JUCO coach denied it on a Knoxville show earlier this week. However, IF Florida wanted him, I can't imagine a better situation for him if he wants a crack at UT.

2. He would only have 2 years left
3. Leak has 1 more year then Portis has 2 after that so when would he play QB?

Remember:
1st it was UGA he was going to, then it was Auburn, now Florida.

Haven't really seen enough of Portis to make a comparison. Just pointing out that using a redshirt year would get him past Leak's eligibility.

I've heard these rumblings before..but until I see where he makes a comment I'd say he will not be a Gator. UF has Portis, Snead coming in...and maybe even Tebow so UF will be fine without him.

At least i'm not the only one who heard it. It sounded legit. That means if it IS true, Chattown would have been right!!!! :rock: But it still sucks just the same.

Portis, from what I hear, is THE QB to lead the UF offense. Based on Brent Schaffers past, he will go to a place that gives him the best chance at starting. If there is a battle to be won, BS will tuck tail in the other direction.

Educated guess is UF is out.
