Well this is new.... Rivals and Scout have Phillips solid to FSU, and word has been that Oku wants his privacy until next week, when he will apparently sign at that time.

agreed........actually, I watched Oku's highlight tape, vastly overrated........he runs quick like Gerald Jones, good cuts, but with less speed........he gets caught from behind quite abit, and doesn't have true breakaway speed at the D-1 level..........not to mention when he gets tapped, he falls like a ton of bricks.......

Oku is like a slow Lamarcus Coker, and we all know what happened to him.........Oku will never play in the NFL, and I think that the staff knows that, thats why they don't care, and have been recruiting other running backs for the past 2 months......

well they just said phillips is official just cause auburn offered to one of his friends an he signed but oku not official but they said they are his leader basically

1) How the hell did Auburn snake these 2 away from us? UT/UT staff > AU/AU staff IMO.
2) Stop the bashing on the kids talent if they commit for someone else...its pathetic. If they sign with us....greatest talent since <insert name of some HOF player>, if they go somewhere else....well they sucked anyway. Just freaking pathetic.

No one is saying Oku sucks. He would have been buried on the depth chart anyway. Getting a great RB wasn't all that important for this class.

So is this a case of UT just not wanting the kid, or both wanted his services and he chose Auburn over UT?

I think Oku got cold feet when we were looking into several RBs in this class, much less what we're going to be pulling in with our next class.

We still wanted him, but I think it was the fact we wanted more than just him.
