Georgia standout middle linebacker Shannon Brown is one of the top defensive prospects in the nation for 2011.

The 6-foot-2, 225 pound powerhouse from Adel, Georgia claims offers from Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, North Carolina, East Carolina, Florida and recently today was offered by Clemson.

Shannon had high praise for Coach Kiffin and the Tennessee program.

"I love what Coach Kiffin is doing with recruiting at UT," Brown said. "He has brought back excitement to the Vol program and a lot of talented players want to play for a coach like him. Their stadium is amazing, and you can tell by watching Vol games on television that it would be electric to play in that type of atmosphere."

Tennessee was able to get in on him early and will be a major player for his services.

Brown is poised to be one of the top middle linebackers in the nation for 2011.

This could be an Alabama/Tennessee battle at the end of the day.

Much more to come on Shannon Brown soon.

So why is ESPN on here...didnt they just release a false investigation with tennessee recruiting and the orange pride. They pointed to the source of information being these volnation forums. I think someone from ESPN is snooping around.

We're an ESPN affiliate. we have someone on here who will give us inside sources and write stories for us. which is pretty cool.

Looking forward to giving Vol fans the latest on 2010 and 2011 targets.

If you're familiar with Matt Prehm, he and I work together on a daily basis.

From talking with Joyner in the past he has always been exceedingly high on FSU.

My sources tell me that he was a long time FSU lock FWIW.

We were never really in it for Joyner and Luc was tight lipped about his entire recruiting process.. Who knows, he may have just been telling everyone what they wanted to hear until he was ready to make his decision to FSU.

He's down to 225 now from 240 this past summer in camp.

He moves very well sideline to sidline, this summer at 240 he was running high 4.6 to low 4.7 range.

I'd say he is in the mid 4.6 to high 4.6 range at this point.

Brown is very good in between the ears. He loves studying film and is very good both in between the tackles and sideline to sideline.
