Just your daily reminder that Bama and UGA are not in the college football playoffs

2020 was the year they took a step back. They lose a lot. Not saying they don’t already have a ton of talent on campus or are not recruiting more studs, but they lose a lot of proven production.

Many have been saying Bama is taking a step back for years. I really have yet to see it. They barely lost 2 games. One was to what could be considered the best team in the nation. The other was to a ranked AU while playing a backup QB.

They lose proven production every single year and it really doesnt move the needle for them. Their defense did take a hit but I dont expect next year to be like this one.

I do from an offensive standpoint. Most likely Tua is gone, easily the best QB in Bama history, plus the wide receiver group will be losing some guys to the NFL. I’m usually pretty reserved when it comes to saying a dynasty is dead or a torch has been passed . I’m not doing that now. Bama is still the standard, but they aren’t winning every game before they get off the bus anymore. There are some major cracks in the foundation at this point.

Jeudy, Ruggs, Smith and Naji Harris most likely leaving early. Those are some studs. Doubtful Tua plays again. They will be good next year, but championship good? If they couldn't pull if off this season, it may show the first crack in the dam. Face it, they had a pretty easy schedule this year - maybe that is why they couldn't close out in Auburn or LSU. If most of your games are home against cupcakes, and you go into a hostile environment and can't get up by 2 touchdowns, the choke factor comes into play when the crowd gets into it. 13 penalties and 2 pick sixes against AU? I don't think that happens in Tuscaloosa. Crowd definitely a factor.

Speaking of playing backup QB's, did you see the graphic in the SEC championship game about the number of backup qb's and wide receivers at qb Georgia played this year? Point of the graphic was the UGA's defense hadn't faced a Joe Burrow or Tua Calibre QB all season. So, Bama has a backup QB that lost a game. Not like they are on an island there.

FINALLY a Florida and UT kumbaya moment! This is one of the few things that even the most radical of both fan bases can agree on - That Dawg and Tide tears raining down is a sweet sight to see. Schadenfreude is a delightful experience in football.

Bama will go 9-3 in the regular season next year and they will be calling for Saban’s head. The competition and coaches will bring down the Saban empire you know he can’t be happy either that Lane is back in the SEC.
