has anyone heard anything about this guy?? i guess we're not recruiting him that hard but i just came across him on the UVA rivals site and it says hes taking a visit there.. I took a look at his profile and he looks like a pretty promising player with his height and weight at WR.

I say we load up the Clawson-van with 7 out of the 11(?) remaining scholarships and send him on a Northeast roadtrip. Tell him to go kick over some rocks in Deleware, and do some catching up with collegues in Virginia. And tell him to come back with this kid, the merrell twins, logan thomas, and morgan moses. Seems like a good year to have ties to this region, I hope its taken advantage of.

we could use an extra wr, but were pretty stacked. And remember we signed stokes, a few athletes and our holding out for marlon brown

Agreed, I doubt we take another receiver besides Brown and Rogers.

speaking of north east. we need an ol eboy that works a lobster ship or fishin buisness. somebody tough as nails and strong as an ox. even if we have to call him whitey. we need the coastal version of farmer brown for our trenches!

Sorry if there is already a thread on him...

I don't subscribe to Scout.com (thank goodness) but i saw on their front page an article about this guy. It says we've only been a target for him since May. At 6'3 200lbs, he looks like a pretty good prospect. He's a four star out of Wilmington, DE, and runs a 4.44 forty. He looks to have the build of a Robert Meachem. I know we don't need WR's but anyone know anything else on him?

Rivals does not have us listed as an option for brown. Usually rivals is more up to date than scout.

Actually it does. We are on his list of favorites, but I don't think we're high up on the list. He likes Virginia a lot.

Robert Meachem comparison is just what I was thinking. I really think Clawson and Company should make a special visit to Deleware and not comeback until they have commits from Brown and the Merrill twins. Give them the Nunes treatment. You would think that 3 coveted recruits from a small neutral state would earn special attention. Or we could just wait on Marlon Brown and let everybody have a shot at these guys.

ESPN 150 Watch List wide receiver Justin Brown currently has Penn State atop his list, affiliate Web site TheBigSpur.com reports.

Rutgers, Virginia, N.C. State and South Carolina appear to be the other programs in the mix for his signature.

Brown mentioned that a team's depth chart will factor into his decision, "I want to go to a school that does not have a lot of wide receivers. I want there to be around 5-6 wide receivers with some graduating as well."

Brown caught 19 passes for 556 yards (29.3 average) and eight touchdowns during his junior campaign.

Brown is clear in his thinking about schools trying to pressure him into a commitment before he is ready.

"If a school says they want me but they are running low on space, I guess they didn't want me bad enough to begin with. I plan on waiting until at least January."

As a junior, Brown hauled in 19 receptions for 558 yards and eight touchdowns.

The Rivals250 standout holds offers from Boston College, Iowa, Kentucky, LSU, NC State, Oregon, Penn State, Rutgers, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Virginia Tech, among others.

• Wilmington (Del.) Concord wide receiver Justin Brown is going to wait until after his senior season to set up any official visits, but schools that certainly will get one are Penn State and Boston College. The Nittany Lions are the team to beat. Rutgers also could get a visit.

Wilmington (Del.) Concord wide receiver Justin Brown will take official visits to Penn State, Boston College and Rutgers. His trip to Penn State is scheduled for Jan. 23, so it's likely the Nittany Lions will get the last shot at him. Brown also is interested in NC State, Iowa and Oregon and, to a lesser extent, Virginia and Purdue. Look for this to be a three-team battle.

"I have Boston College and Penn State set for January 16th and 23rd," Wilmington (Dela.) Concord wide receiver Justin Brown said. "I don't think any schools will be back in session on January 9th, so I don't have any visits planned.

"Everyone wants me to come on January 30th. I might schedule the trip to Virginia Tech. It is up for grabs between Virginia Tech, Purdue, Iowa and Oregon. They are all fighting for the same date. I'm not sure which one I want to take an official to."

Penn State and Boston College already have officials locked in. What does Brown like about them?

"Both of them are great academic schools and are fairly close," he said. "That is why I like Rutgers a lot as well. They are close. I like that Boston College throws the ball a lot and Penn State has had some great success.
