To Highpoint to be the next head coach. Any thoughts about possible replacements for him?

Not a knock on any one coach, but I just have the impression that our assistant coaches took a step back in the last year or two. Obviously, we need better offensive development, but also better game planning and maybe a bit better recruiting as well. Too many big misses.

Someone who is offensive minded who can help recruit athletic players. We lack athleticism on this roster.
You think Barnes will get an offensive mind? He'll double down on defense and get a guy who shares his philosophies. Don't forget that Texas wanted him to make staff changes to help with their stagnant offense and he refused and was fired as a result. Now, 8 years later, do you really expect change from this guy when he's got a combined 25 years of history at Texas and UT that says otherwise? Come on. Leopards don't change their spots and neither will Barnes. Accept who and what he is until he A-retires or B-gets fired.

Mashack, ZZ, and Jefferson are plenty athletic. Phillips was before he was injured. I don’t think that was our problem.
We've had shooters. We've had athletes. Problem is that we can't seem to find guys who are both.

I’m referring to this yrr’s roster. ZZ wasn’t able to consistently go to rack. Phillips neither, even before the injury. Hence our scoring droughts.

I’m hopeful he will. If he doesn’t then nothing will change. It’s difficult to get to the final four but the matchups were in our favor this post season.

We shoot poorly around the basket. Our offensive game within 5 feet of the basket needs a lot of work. We need someone badly who can address this.

Barnes offense (Inside out) depends on having an athletic big man who is both a scorer and a good passer, and also plays good defense. He doesn't have one of those. The new assistant needs to recruit and coach a guy like that.
