According to Todd Mcshay, Justin Hunter is STILL the #1 reciever who is draft eligible (Lee from USC is a soph)

I ran the numbers just being curious.

In 4 NON CONFRENCE GAMES VS NC ST, GA ST, ARK, TRO
34 catches, 515 yards, 7 tds

thats great, being the phenom athlete he is, he should dominate the little sisters of the poor (outside NC St)

In 5 SEC GAMES vs FLA UGA Miss ST BAMA USCjr
22 catches, 323 yards, 0 touchdowns. none.

If Mcshay beleives he's the #1 reciever prospect, I just dont know how he's still employed. Hunter could be great.. but he's not there yet. I expect him to put up great numbers in the last 3 sec games vs Vandy UK and MIZZOU and leave for the draft.

As for today. LETS GET A *#&@(@# WIN TODAY

Not knocking Hunter in any way, b/c I still think he is a class act and Im glad he is a Vol. But I question McShay and his talent scouting after seeing his #1 QB is Gino Smith.

I wonder how many drops he is credited with this season? How many of those were sure TDs?

I think he has dropped 2.......

Not counting the SC game, on the INT, there was like 30 sec left, and they had to go 80 yards....that one wasnt his fault.

That was a "Throw it up there and hope"play

Dude, he has dropped way more than just two this year.

In the NFL it is all about physical attributes and the potential upside of a player. They don't care what you have done in college....hence Bryce Brown. If you have the physical tools then you are going to get drafted.

Not to mention his "jukeability" after he does make a catch. That's in his head too.

JUST TURN IT UP THE FIELD! NORTH AND SOUTH!

I'm not sure if he's running scared or just thinks he's Barry Freakin Sanders.

As long as he's a Vol I support him! He isn't the only player to have some on the field issues.

Your insane.......I am talking about where it "Hits his hands"

That is what you would call a "drop" in football

Looks like Hunter has dropped 6 passes: Justin Hunter - SEC Blog - ESPN

Look in the "Did you know?" portion of the ESPN article, or just do a search.

Regardless, he is a great WR. He has the size, speed, jumping ability, and really does have good hands despite what he has done this year. To me, his weaknesses as an NFL WR are that he isn't physical and he tends to just juke left and right and fall to the turf without gaining any yardage.

If he's the best receiver in college football pigs fly and hell has just frozen over. He probably has as much natural talent as any other receiver but there is a lot more to being great than just having talent. He is terrible after the catch if anyone is close to him and he has had more big time drops this year than any receiver of ours I can ever remember.

Justin Hunter is a great player. NFL All Pros have drops every week. Look at Calvin Johnson. He doesn't have a touchdown this year.

Hunter may be #1 receiver but I think that Rivera is the most underrated TE out there. He has always had solid hands and good blocking.

Justin Blackmon's stats were outragous at OKST and he hasn't had a game over 67 yards in NFL .. so i agree with this.

Yeah that's a real fair comparison since the jags offense is soo loaded. :good!:You know the same would happen to hunter if he went to kansas city or jacksonville.
