I personally feel that Cry Me a River needs to be saved in a time capsule and left for aliens to discover when they look through the ruins of our civilization in thousands of years.

Because N sync sold over 50 million albums and battled the backstreet boys during the height of the boy band frenzy. Mickey Mouse Club was nice and all, and a good jump start (which is where N sync found him and J.C. when they were building the band), but to compare it to the money and fame from touring is just not even close.

I'm actually a big JT fan, which my friends kill me for. Good singer, great performer, the dancing is eh IMO. What shocked me was his acting, he is extremely talented and funny. Best guest on SNL and the only time I watch.

It's actually way more than that. Depends on what you consider "success" though. I consider winning an award in acting or being on at least one season of a decent TV show. And whatever you consider Tony Lucca to be. Plus, JC may not have been big other than that one single about lesbians, but he still has that A Capella singing show which I know lots of people watch.

Really, most of them went on to at least moderate success

This. I just said N sync is what allowed his solo career to be as big as it was, and that the MMC days were big, but not 50 million albums and one of the biggest group of the 90's big.
