Letting Kippy coach the 2010 season and then mounting a full, more conventional coaching search after that season seems like a good idea in hindsight. Kiffin left the program in such a compromised position due to the nature in which he left. It was impossible to conduct an adequate search and we had a pool of candidates to pick from who would have never been offered that job under normal circumstances.

I fully expect UT to get another shot but with Butch and Shoop around this time next year. And if I'm being honest, I like the idea of Shoop as the head coach at UT. Really like the secondary coach we just hired, too.
