Bill Snyder's team is in the driver's seat. They are third in the BCS, behind Alabama and Florida (who will have to play each other in the SECCG). K-State's remaining schedule features some tough games, but they are all games that K-State ought to win.

Here's to hoping that Snyder finally gets a National Championship.

Ducks fans are exploding

Oregon will probably jump KState. If they win out, it's one more game and a significantly tougher remaining slate, and they're not that far behind.

Right now, on paper, it looks like a tougher slate for Oregon. However, Stanford and Oregon State have to play each other; one of them must lose; that hurts Oregon.

For K-State, Oklahoma State plays TCU. The winner of that game will be ranked. If Texas Tech beats Texas, the TT will most likely finish the season in the top 15; if they lose to Texas, Texas will be in the Top 20.

I also think that the voters will put K-State ahead of Oregon, if they have to choose between an undefeated team with the Heisman winner at QB or the undefeated team without (Klein is certainly in the driver's seat for the Heisman).

Wouldn't it suck for a one loss SEC team have to watch Oregon vs. Kansas St. in the national championship game.

Likely won't happen because Bama looks too good to lose to anybody, but it would be pretty awesome if that did happen (it implies Florida and Bama both get championship hopes dashed)

It is a tougher slate for the Ducks.

USA Today and Harris polls tend more to go off name-recognition in coin flip situations. Sure, if Klein wins the Heisman it may help, but I doubt it helps any more than the Ducks being a household name going back some years now while KState isn't.

Would love to see K-State slow down Oregon's offense and win a Snyder of a game.

Also, can we discuss just how overrated WVU's offense was? K-State shutting it down isn't too surprising, but Texas Tech?

Oregon will jump them IMO. K State will trip up. I'd love to see K State play for the title though but it doesn't matter because no one is coming close to beating Bama this year.

I was shocked by both. Morgantown is in fits right now. Geno trolled that whole state.

Three games against top ten opponents (OSU, USCx2) and #17 Stanford

If they make it through that schedule then I have no doubt they will be in the title game. I do have to wonder what happens if Alabama drops a game, say to LSU, and then beats Florida in the SEC title game, if they would go over an undefeated Kansas State to play an undefeated Oregon. Purely hypothetical.

I think the Pac-12 is somewhat up this year and the SEC is somewhat down (at least the west if we're talking about Bama), so I see an undefeated Oregon getting preference over Bama. KState, not so sure.

Ultimately someone in the top 10 (or a few) will be undefeated and not invited. The glory of a 4 team play in several years is piddily-nada IMO. FBS is a number and beauty pageant game. Not game day.

Already preparing your argument for when the Ducks are left out?

Notre Dame will lose at least two. Oregon either finishes 11-1 or 12-0, depending on USC. K-State could very well go undefeated, although both TCU and Baylor on the road will be very tough. Oregon State finishes 10-2 or so.
