What is crazier than the Fulmer suggestion is that a sportswriter for the Kansas City Star suggested that KU should pursue Tressel.

Honestly, though, I think KU fans can hope for Leach but expect someone like Tim Beck.

I believe the move was made after 2 seasons because Kansas let the success of Mangino lead them to believe they can be really good at football too. The problem is the time it would take Turner Gill to overhaul everything makes them an unstable program. That unstableness in a Big 12 that is super unstable if any more teams defect. Kansas would be one of the teams left out. I feel this firing after only 2 seasons is a panic mode move to try and hope someone can get them quick success and make them appealing to conferences. Replacement for Gill in my mind is Kevin Sumlin.

I have been hoping for Tim Beck to come back to KU since Mangino left.

It's probably moreso to do with their new AD; Gill wasn't their guy and he's sucked even by Kansas standards. KU was barely competitive this year.

Anyway, it serves them right for firing Mangino for basically yelling at players. Dude got them to the freakin' Orange Bowl, something I never thought I'd see.

Christensen is a Mizzou guy, and probably the successor to Gary Pinkel when he decides to retire. I'm guessing the Jayhawks don't go the route of hiring another young, mid-major HC. I could be wrong, but I see them moving towards a hot name coordinator like Beck.

This morning on the radio there was talk about Northern Illinois HC and former Wisconsin DC Dave Doeren. He is only in his first year at NIU, but has them in the MAC championship game. He is a native of Shawnee Mission, Kansas. He played Kansas this year and talked about the area being his home.

KU fans were calling in this morning and really want Leach.

Heard that too. That was hilarious. They are going through the same rumors and stories that we experienced.

i.e. "I have a friend in the AD department that says....; A real estate agent was looking for houses for....; The university jet was reportedly leaving Key West....."

Its so funny how people recycle the same craziness.
