"Evan Daniels of Scout.com is reporting Enes Kanter has committed to Kentucky. The 6′11″ Turkish big man has been a late arrival on the recruiting scene and originally committed to Washington way back when. But now Daniels says he has cast his lot with UK today. According to Daniels, who has been high on this kid from the moment he arrived, Kanter has the complete skill package and is a big man who can do it all. He is not really the typical Euro big man that stays on the outside. According to Daniels, he likes to mix it up down low and can be a force on the post."

2 things:
1.) He will be a big downgrade from Cousins.
2.) What are the chances he actually ever makes it to KY? Between his previous experience in a pro league in Europe as well as his ability to go pro somewhere before next season starts it seems like a long shot.

#2 will depend on the benies Calamari can negotiate for him from boosters. It might be more profitable to go to UK. You don't have to pay taxes on what they give you.

His eligibility is the issue right now, which the article talks about also. We shall see what happens. He decommited only to commit again, which is wierd in itself.

As for the downgrade from Cousins, he is not a player you get in every recruiting class. Kids skill set is rare, so I'm not to dissapointed. However, there is really no great amount of video on this kid, so I can't make a judgment call one way or the other.

All I know is, with the NBA GM's now talking Orton as a first round pick as well, (on top of the fact it seems that he wants to leave) we will be thin down low if we don't lock something up quick.

The best part of going from professional in Turkey to being a Wildcat is the pay raise. :)
