Who would you rather sign? They are both free agents after this season, they both sit on 11 wins each. Who is more marketable, who is a better driver?

I would go with Kahne. He's 5 years younger, has a great sponsor, and he's done more with what little he's had with Petty.

Rumors are saying Roush wants to put him in the #6.

I am thinking Harvick might try to do his own thang anyway. I would definitely pick Kahne if I was an owner.

I'd pick Kevin Harvick, because he's an *******, and drivers need a bit of that.

I guess it depends on who's doing the signing. I think Hendrick or Roush would favor Kahne while a team like Stewart Haas would favor Harvick. If Harvick continues to run well this season then I see him re-signing with RCR but I could see Kahne leaving if he landed a better ride. If the #5 car comes open after the season then I could see him going there. Who knows with Mark Martin, he is the Brett Favre of Nascar.

I think I would lean towards Harvick because of his exposure (with his own teams) in Nationwide and the truck series. I think they are fairly close on driver talent, Kahne is good if you give him the right car as is Harvick although I think Kahne might be worth a little more from a marketing standpoint.

I would go with Khane - he is more marketable as has been mentioned, he is younger as well. My main reason for Khane is he is a better team player. Harvick brings conflict, and he is very likely to start his own team.

Kahne is more marketable by far. Harvick is slightly better, but he'll most likely be doing his own team in the not so distant future.

Followup. Where do you think they'll eventually sign? Stewart's third team if he decides to start up another? Harvick just run his own stuff? Stay with RCR if he keeps running this well?

I'd say Kahne is the most likely to go elsewhere between the two, but where?

Harvick will most likely stay at RCR if he continues to do well, but then again, when would he be more valuable than as NASCAR Champ? I think Khane is more likely to change. Roush/Fenway would seem most logical.

I still think Harvick leaves RCR this off season and joins Stewart/Newman at SHR. I've read that Stewart-Haas has said expanding for next year still isn't on the books but why would you be training a third pit crew and loaning them out to the #71 team for nothing? By the end of the season they'll have the pit crew ready (and experienced) to go all they need to do is add a crew chief and Kevin. Shell/Pennzoil will follow Harvick where ever he goes so sponsorship isn't an issue with Harvick either. It also adds Kevin's KHI team to act as the Nationwide and Truck series teams for Stewart-Haas Racing.

I see Kahne leaving Richard Petty Motorsports as well, I don't know where he'll wind up though.

Tough to say. Stewart is one of Kahne's heros. He could want to drive for him. Also, would he want to go to RF and be the "4th" team. I can't remember how the law suit went between Ford and him. Is there still bad blood? I have said for a while that Kahen is one of the wasted talents of Nascar. I think he would ahve won alot more races if he was driving better equipment. Harvick will either be at RCR or SHR in a 3rd car. He'll use the option of driving his own car as leverage to get a better deal. Then again, if he ends up running the whole Nationwide season and runs well he might decide to move that team up to the cup level... Who knows.
