I do not believe that any Republicans (including Trump) would call for the resignation of a Republican Senator in a similar circumstance as Franken's. They have already defended Trump's Access Hollywood video as "locker room talk". They would defend such a picture in a similar fashion... "He was just trying to be funny in front of his buddies! That was a joke, people!"

You are straining like hell to deflect. How was Franken "expendable"? We don't know that a Republican won't win his seat. Of course, Franken had to admit to his bad behavior but he apologized and Tweeden accepted it. That could have been the end of it... it wasn't.

It was obviously an attempt at humor (albeit horrible judgement) by a man who worked as a comedian at the time... not an assault. Yet, that is how he was judged and he was forced out. (And I'm not saying that he shouldn't have been, it just wouldn't happen to a Republican in the same circumstance).

He's less than 2 years into a 6 year term and admitted to the accusations. It wasn't just Tweeden he admitted about.

Of course all of this ignores the insanely huge difference in how Dems are reacting to Ellison vs Kavanaugh but yeah, Dems are completely consistent and sincere on this - they just "know" Ellison's wife is making it up and Ford, et al are completely accurate.

You said no one backed up the claim he tried to leave the scene. Clearly you are mistaken unless you think the cops that arrived on the scene just made that up. It's in the police report.

Not one bit. He wrote it in his report based on one person's statement. The cops takes statements and puts it in his report. Jesus dude, you did go full Redhat.

You said no one backed up the claim. At least one person did at the scene with enough veracity that it became part of the accident report.

But you believe Beto who talked to his passenger (likely drunk too) 15 years after the accident and he said - "no dude, we didn't try to leave".

He was gonna leave the scene and was stopped by a witness. He’s been twice convicted, I’m sure you’re ok with that. Not surprised that you’ve gone full pussyhat.

BB nailed you down with your whataboutism. Name the 2 witnesses that said he tried to leave the scene? Hint: the cop is not one. One witness said that and only one.

From the link you provided:
O’Rourke was not charged with leaving the scene, other possible witnesses were not interviewed and the police officer did not personally observe O’Rourke trying to flee.

Not at all. He has successfully pointed out how 1 accusation is being handled not just differently but totally the opposite based on partisan politics from the other. And they re not even remotely trying to hide it.

For some reason you believe that a witness at the scene who told the police that he indeed did try to leave the scene convincingly enough that it appeared in a police report counts as nobody backing up the claim.

I could be remembering this wrong but wasn’t he photographed having his hand on a sleeping woman’s boob? If so then anybody would be booted.
