Kavanaugh Confirmation

"Fake news"?

Maybe, maybe not, we can’t decide because they didn’t give us their source material just their interpretation of the text messages they have. So it’s junk journalism that is suspect.

A mutual friend of Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh and accuser Deborah Ramirez has reportedly turned over text messages to the FBI showing him reaching out to friends from college for support before her allegations were made public.

Kerry Berchem, a partner in the law firm Akin Gump, told NBC News that she had text messages showing that Judge Kavanaugh contacted classmates, including Karen Yarasavage, prior to the publication of the New Yorker article in which Ms. Ramirez said that he exposed himself to her at a Yale party.

“In one message, Yarasavage said Kavanaugh asked her to go on the record in his defense. Two other messages show communication between Kavanaugh’s team and former classmates in advance of the story,” said Monday’s NBC report.

The report said that Ms. Berchem reached out to the FBI and then Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Connecticut Democrat, who assisted her with turning over the texts to the FBI investigators.

“After we were made to jump through several hoops that delayed our moving forward, it became clear that the majority Committee staff had not turned this summary over to the FBI and, in fact, had no intention of turning it over to the FBI. With our assistance, Kerry submitted her summary to the FBI herself,” said a Blumenthal spokesman.

Did your copy and paste just stop working or did you intentionally leave out this part?

"George Hartmann, a spokesman for Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley, told NBC that “the texts from Ms. Berchem do not appear relevant or contradictory to Judge Kavanaugh’s testimony.”

That may be why NBC didn’t print them in their article.

The bucket is never empty when your operating with Alinsky rule #13 Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. They literally have a book for this...

Agree but they never read the warning label on the front and back that says “ only use in case of emergency , using the scorched earth approach always has dire consequences.

Did you steal that book off of Rush Limbaugh's desk or Hannity?

Eventually, someone will look back at what's going on and say "you know, guys, this was a real bad idea..."

One thing I am pretty puzzled about. It was asked of BK in the Senate Judiciary meeting whether he thought this was a job interview or not. I have seen several on here refer to the meetings as a job interview. So can we conclude that this was a job interview?

If so have you ever been on a job interview where the interviewers ask zero questions about your previous experience and ask you questions about your previous experience to see what you bring to the table?

I am finding this to be pretty interesting. BK has been serving on the 2nd highest court, has made many decisions that have affected the course of our nation, has many written documents on his stances and has been in the public court system for 25+ years.

If he were so "unfit" for this position wouldn't it be so easy to find in his mound of public documentation? Wouldn't they be able to point to specific decisions that have caused them spread fear amongst their voting bases? You can't tell me that these Democrats have taken little effort to have their resources scavenge through his work and find even the smallest thing to make their case that he would be a terrible SC judge. The fact that there hasn't been one single report on any of his decisions is leading me to believe that this fiasco is their last ditch effort because they cannot find anything on him professionally.

This dude may just be highly qualified for the job and make one heck of a SC judge.
