we've gotta keep these two if we have any shot at keeping our big commits

mhamilton@tennessee.edu

and no im not violating anything his email is out there for everyone if you dig a little on utsports.com

I agree that both appear to have recruited well but neither can make much of a case for the job they have done at their respective positions. That's not to say that they haven't done the best they could with what they had but neither the running backs or receivers have played particularly well.

It's not Hamilton's decision -- well, not really. There is no way we can hire a good HC and then handicap him by telling him who he can/cannot fire. I believe the whole staff is at risk. What actually happens remains to be seen.

Those aren't the only two guys that can recruit....

Just a thought. There's more than 2 ppl in the country that can do just as well of a job as them, prob better.

excellent idea.

When your OL can't block it's hard to do anything on offense. Especially when your QB can't hit quick passes because everyone is loading the box. I think they might stick around with the next coach.

Bringing in any combination of Rodney Garner, Billy Napier, and Kevin Steele would more than make up for those two.

ONE of the above mentioned coaches has already told a top recruit to look at his B option.

I'm not missing the point. Just pointing out that it isn't ground breaking material.

Ok...let's try this again.

Why keep a coach who tells a top recruit to look at another option??

The title of the thread is Keep Drayton and Scott. Why keep them?

Hit the Reset button. Bigger eggs to fry. Let the new coach figure that out. I would think that the HC would be the first concern and the chips need to fall where they must.

I think they're trying to protect their own interests by keeping the recuits tied to them and not the school. If they convinced the players they recruited to come to UT regardless of the coach, we wouldn't be on here debating whether it's a necessity to keep them (because we'd already have the players for sure).

Exactly

What top coach is gonna want to come here if our AD is dictating what Asst's he must retain? The new HC should decide who stays and who goes.
