Not that it mattered ultimately, but was I the only one who thought that the play ruled an incomplete pass early in the game should have been a fumble?

Seems like the replay showed it was loose when the arm was still going back, not on the way forward. Not reviewable I think, due to the quick whistle, but that would have been a scoop and score.

From my perspective, his arm was in a forward motion when the ball came lose.

Could be wrong, but it appeared to me that the correct call was made on the field.

Don't recall that play, but he got away with an intentional grounding for sure.

His arm was in the throwing motion. Refs got that one right. Now that 'catch' along the sidelines toward the end of the game, that's a different story.

Is the wind up considered part of the 'throwing motion' by rule? If so, then yes the call was correct. Interesting.

It was close. It was one of those bang bang calls

What's hilarious is when keeton threw that lame duck that slipped... All I could think of was petermans identical throw in the Florida game. On their boards they were making fun of peterman for that throw hardcore and kept bringing it up.

The ball went forward so it was an incomplete pass. The ball going forward was evidence his hand was going forward.

Keeton who?

This guy in our section said this 1000x... I think other vols fans turned him and the cops made him leave...he was asking the crowd to get on tier feet during a TV timeout...I hope he is back on his Meds this morning

You wouldn't happen to have been in the higher parts of H would you? We had a guy just like that there too. Wanted us to act like it was overtime when we're up by 30.

I think Chuckie is a pretty good QB. He was trying to win the game himself because he had no help from anyone else on the offense.

Agreed. His offensive line was a sieve. He was running for his life most of the night. Felt a little bad for him at the end - there was no reason for him to be in there down 30 and risk injury as he already looked pretty banged up.
