Guy puts on a big dog and pony show for a few free dinners a year, doesn't he?
"I'll listen and we'll see," said Kelly, who's already scheduled to interview with the Eagles, Browns, and Bills. "I want to get it wrapped up quickly and figure out where Im gonna be." Kelly's fourth-ranked Ducks destroyed fifth-ranked Kansas State 35-17 on Thursday. It's fully expected to be his final college game.
It sounds reasonable until you get to the last sentence that the writer decided to throw in there. Chip never left Arizona and only spent Saturday and part of Friday/Sunday listening to NFL teams that came to talk. He is now back in Eugene and said he will be the Ducks head coach.
Dog and pony show? We don't have those in Oregon.
Since you are a Duck fan, How long will Oregon put up with stuff like this from Kelly? As long as he is winning it won't matter? I would think at some point and time the AD would get tired of it. :dunno:
It was a fairly painless process: it took three days, he never traveled anywhere, and it occurred during a dead week in recruiting.
All in all 3 days out of the year ain't so bad, especially on the tails of a BCS win.
I should add that I figured he would stay but I'm definitely in the minority. Too many people listen to rumors and speculation which is ridiculous in this Twitter age.
Bandwagon fans and other school's fans are the ones who are bothered by it the most, until they accept it's a cost of having Chip as your coach. He's going to leave, and I will celebrate each year he comes back. It's still working.
