So, given Brian Kelly's appointment to Notre Dame as coach and his status as a QB guru, I would guess Rees and Hendrix are going to be staying put. With that said, who do you think the staff will be pursuing hard for a 2nd QB spot. I personally hope it isn't Sims.

Pretty shady on Kelly's part though, dumping his team weeks before the biggest game in the programs history. Check out the link to see his players responses to the news.

the Cincy players seemed pretty mad at him ,does him leaving open up any prospects from Cincy?

Lane Kiffin tends to say whatever he feels or thinks without hesitation to a fault , and is bashed to no end by the media for it. He supposedly tells his players what's up. He supposedly tells his staff how he feels, whether they like it or not. Brian Kelly straight up lies to the very hands that fed him ; his own team that got him where he is ,no less, and Espn gushes about how great he is and what a great fit he will be for ND. WTF kinda dope are they passing around in their offices?

You people sound like a bunch of whiners. Quick to shoot down any coach that doesn't coach UT. Fact is the guy is a phenomenal coach and will be a great fit a ND IMO. You don't just take UC to back to back BCS games and their first undefeated season without being a good coach. As far as coaching in the bowl game, i think he should but i also think ND probably wants him there asap to start recruiting.

I'm not so sure they're both a lock to stay put...

They're both pro-style QB's and Kelly runs a spread so I wouldn't be surprised if rees in particular gives us a serious looko before staying there

Kelly is getting a bad rap on this one. He literally has no choice in this matter, short of not accepting the job. I'm sure he would love to coach the bowl game.

I think Kelly is obiviously a great coach and knows how to develop talent and is great competitor. The only thing that he has done that I have seen draw negative reviews is the way he left his team. I don't know exactly what happened there or what was said when he left but I do know his players were very angry and some folks at the University thought it should have been handled better. But IMO he is a great fit for the Irish.

I'll agree that it was demanded of him to come now. We all know how vital that immediate recruiting is. I still hate how it was done. It's the "business" side of it that sucks and breaks the hearts of 18-22 year old kids when they've worked so hard, believed in a coach and done nothing to deserve this.

I think Kelly will do excellent... but I hate Notre Dame all the more now.

I have heard multiple comments (don't ask for link don't have link to radio) that although his public presence is very affable, that he is hard to work with, etc... but then again a lot of successful coaches are. Part of the reason his players are smearing him is that he is whatever you call the opposite of a player's coach.

I have certainly not whined about anything. I just happen to not share your opinion of his future success at ND. I dont think he deals with recruits in a manner that will allow him to bring in top classes at the level they want them at ND. I think he is a great offensive coach who has had some teams that struggle on defense. Familiar? I dont think he is going to be as successful as most people are thinking.

of course the players are hurt. but this is a business and he did what was best for his family.
cannot fault the guy for that...he never denied like saban and said i will not be the coach....he was obviously the guy and did not want to say it on espn last night as he wanted to talk to his guys first.

Can you imagine how many front doors Phillip has had to have replaced with Notre Dame beating them down trying to get him as coach? Are you guys positive that Phil is not the new coach?
