If this is really about his family, then good for him.

The timing is really weird.

It is being reported he will be at practice tomorrow. Not sure though if a player does not want to be there 100% they should be out there. I know he has a family and already received his degree. But he was a player most were happy to see back after breaking his leg against AU last year so late in the season. Either way I wish him the best.

If he comes back I think you bama people can swallow your pride and know you guys are paying them boys now. Cause he said he was quitting to worry about his kids. So if he comes back today that would mean that he came into money over night

That, or someone reminded him that even the rookie minimum is likely to be a lot more than what he'll make elsewhere. If he wants to take care of his kids, walking away from football is probably a bad idea.

Bell tweeted the following Tuesday:

“I’m back with the team!! Just needed time to myself for a day but I couldn’t leave my boy @10AJMcCarron we ended this run together.”

I understand things happen. Quiting on your senior year is dumb unless you know 100 percent you ain't goin to the league. The practice squad players make prob 100k.

had he graduated yet? that wouldn't be a smart move for his family to throw away a free degree

plus, if he really cares about family over football, he could earn another ring or two (or three) and save some of his jerseys and other items to sell after he graduates.

This. Unless he's some computer programmer genius we don't know about.
