I was only 14. I was so upset I went outside to shoot 200 freethrows. When I came back in the house, we were only 15 or so behind. Watched the rest of it.

Well Brian, though perhaps not in your neck of the woods....we had electricity in our part of Kentucky.
My dad also installed 4 ground spot lights in a "4 corner" setup around my goal. You could play 24-7. And yes, I was VERY upset. I was the kid that cried after the Duke loss, and missed 2 days of school. Though I was 12 then.
Actually, no joke, I probably made about 180-185. I was about a 85% FT shooter in my middle/high school career. I tried to shoot 1000 FT's a week, year round. Dad would rebound for me when he was not on the road working.

Unfortunately, it IS true. I was the average size white point guard who lacked a great first step. (lefty) Made my living from the perimeter, and with my brain. Being a good FT shooter doesn't win you man accolades.
